I much prefer the idea pressing using the number pad in a more similar fashion to what you do for you character.
I keep getting mixed up when my car is diagonal or sideways on my screen and have crashed into several rocks and trees due to that.
Vehicle controls won’t work any better. There are only 8 directions on numpad, while vehicles have 6 times more.
