iOS Version

So has anyone an interest in porting to android? There is a linux version already…so it should be just a measure of touch screen options. Maybe allow keyboard and mouse only for large screens 10" plus?

It’s something I could take a look at (I’m a professional Android dev), but I can’t give any promises. It took me a few evenings just to get it compiling on Windows, no idea how hard it would be to get it compiled to run on an android device. Might give it a look when I get home tonight.

You sir would be a legend if you manage to get it working. It’s something that a lot of people have been requesting over time, there even was a short demo some years back, but nobody had the skills or interest to fully port it or continue that initial work.

I would love to be able to play this on my android phone!

I’m still playing. But it is still V1.12. Author got busy it seems. I saw on his site he was working on an IOS port of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup but I can’t find it in the app store. Give him time. I’m hoping for a refresh.

Well I have a few ideas for using the swipe motions for ease of access to menus. But I have a 10" tablet using Android 4.0.1(or was it v4.0.3…). Anyway, my point is you could require the user to have a USB keyboard and mouse(I have usb standard on my device) Then no one could complain about the controls.

-Pinch in or out for 1 zoom at a time.
-Make the bottom of the screen black showing relevant health and other info.
-Swipe from top to down = inventory
-Swipe left to right = Character information / skills etc
-Swipe right to left = Map
-Swipe bottom to top = Mini map?
-Optional semi-clear numeric keypad directional on either left or right screen.
-Optional USB numeric keypad?(i got one of those too, makes life tremendously easier to play)

I would be very keen on trying this on my android tablet, especially if you could work in chestholes tiles (even the low res ones of his) But no tiles? Not problem. It would kick the living(undead?) crap out of 99% of the trash on android if you got this game running.

…now the pisser of it is…finding a functional stable version =/
If you make it for my low version of android. I’d be happy since I can’t upgrade it =/

Is this port dead now? There hasn’t been an update in… some time. This was my favorite, so convenient to play this anywhere! Too bad…

In theory, once I’ve released the source code for the Android version, anyone could port that across to iOS (including me at a later date if I have the bandwidth). Might be a little while though…
