How did you last die?

My “psychic” got eaten.
Played as sorcerer, those cbms don’t do much as far as damage goes.
Do they hit harder with correct skill?
(Finger-laser & chain lightning)

Didn’t upload my save to Dropbox correctly when getting a new computer, soon before the old computer stopped working.

R.I.P. Rhodri Kraakman, the eldritch abomination/cyborg/mutant/god.

R.I.P. The SNV, his mobile fortress with 14 turrets on the front.

I tried the “Really bad day” challenge.
It’s… Allot more difficult since i’ve done it the last time ( Was my best ever run, never really died… still have it on my old rig somewhere )

But this time, I’ve never gotten far enough from the burning house dying instantly :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember the sheer disappointment that resulted in trying Really Bad Day and starting in a gun store. Didn’t last long. I did make it out alive, but had no time at all to loot those guns. :V

I Believe my last successful bad-day run happened with dynamic spawns turned on, Real easy start…
Spawned on the outskirts of town, Made it safely to a nearby house, grabbed clothes, made a makeshift sling and a bindle out the curtains, grabbed painkillers water & food…
made it to the next house aswell, There were guns in the basement and still no mobs, Not sure if I Cauterized the infection or found some suitable meds but i took care of it and camped in there till most the symptoms faded away. At that point, The challenge was done and i was left with a character that started with +10 points.
If i recall correctly i had the whole suit of light survivor gear by the time i finished clearing the street.

As i’ve said he never died, But his story had ended when i went back to hauling and installing furniture :stuck_out_tongue:

Is it possible to do really bad day on a high spawn rate? It seems when I try it on at least 10x spawn, getting out of the window ends up with either a massive pool of acid/massive cloud of electricity.

Possibly possible, but difficult difficulty. owo

It’s possible alright, Managed to run through the blockade once, But i was far absurdly reckless at that point and didn’t even attempt to look for supplies or medications, found a shelter while running as far away from town as i could, camped there for a few days and exhausted myself doing so, Without any supplies to get back into shape, Some random mob finished me off before i could blink or spot it as i tried walking out the shelter.

It’s possible, but unlikely, a coin toss at best. Shocker zeds are definitely lethal. Next it’s the dogs and other fast creatures that can get your slow weak flu-ridden butt. Your life depends on how fast you can get a vehicle, or how close you are to the edge of the city. I wouldn’t recommend 10x monster spawn anyway. It’s fun at first but it makes city visits tedious in the long run, not so much challenging. Even with the vehicle turret mod enabled, or especially with it, the gameplay stutters as the turrets pause to fire on every turn. The zombies also obliterate everything as soon as they see you, usually cars, whether it is because the cars are in their way or because the cars have their engines on. You’ll be constantly interrupted assuming you don’t spend an hour clearing the surroundings of your target building, killing dozens or hundreds of zombies. You’ll have more peace if you do night raids, but personally I find playing in the darkness annoying, too. The problem isn’t so much the large number of zombies but the fact that at first you can wipe off half of them with big guns, but then the rest just keep trickling your way, or hang around in the vicinity, causing interruptions. So either you tolerate the interruptions or you start chasing them down, which risks attracting the zombies further away. Doing your first hit-and-run into a city is fine or even fun but not so much if you have to do it the fifth or the sixth time…

Hmm… maybe there’s something in the options to tackle this? Turn off animations and warnings or something?

You can adjust both animation delay and turn it off entirely, so if turrets are taking too long you can easily fix that.

It was a dark night several weeks after my survivor, Jenny Cardex, escaped her home in the middle of an infested city. She had built up some supplies, storing them all in the bathroom of what used to be a farm-house that she turned into a survival shelter. In the middle of this room was a brazier that she used so she could see while crafting various objects. It was a night like any other, her moral was high from a combination of music and ‘a certain item’ that made her feel much better. While humming a tune and stitching together a duffel bag, it never crossed her mind that keeping a pile of ammunition only a few inches away from a fire could possibly be a bad idea.

Boom!

She never expected the large explosion that crippled her left arm and right leg, and before she could recover her senses half her home was in flames and all of her supplies were lost. She ran out into the rain, only being able to grab a small bit of food and her clarinet, turning to watch her house burn to the ground due to such a stupid mistake on her part. Without any guns at all, and no hand-to-hand or weapon skills to speak of, she realized her situation had gone from comfortable to dire in an instant.

Of course, when it rains, it pours, and out of the darkness she could see a set of beady eyes getting closer to her. A bear had chosen this moment of all times to try to make a snack out of her. She walked as fast as she could over to the only building still standing, the barn, hoping to shut the large doors and hide inside until the animal lost interest. Unfortunately, still stunned and in shock from recent events, she didn’t realize she was standing directly under the doors when she pulled the lever.

Splat

The door came down square on her back, smashing several of her vertebrate in an instant and leaving her helpless against the hungry bear that was only a few feet away. A smile came across her face as she stared into the sky, a trickle of blood running down her lip, the rain washing it away into the cold dirt. The last thoughts that ran through her mind as her consciousness faded were “I lost the game.”

Also I keep forgetting ‘run’ is an option now.

…ouch. o.o

After around 20ish tries with Really Bad Day spawn set 5 rolled a new world with spawn 2.
Still dying, but my computer doesn’t suffer from lagocalypso.
Might try a survivor.

Tried the lab challenge on the experimental version, labs are pretty easy i figured, i know the layout and all the traps in the book…

Well, I’ve got to the top floor! found the exit with one turret guarding it. unlike most labs you visit from the top to bottom >_>

I’ve closed the door and decided to explore the floor looking for furniture or rags to burn to create a smokescreen…
Instead i found the teleporter room… Without a flashlight, i accidently stepped into it! so eager to check for the goodies on the table :frowning:

Got teleported infront the turret, took a final breath and accepted my demise.

And that is why low perception is !!FUN!! in labs. I always have to be leery of slime-fridge rooms when playing a low-per character.

[sup]( always starting with stats at 9 or higher, surely you can tell which roll of cheeze i’m fantasizing about )[/sup]

Huehuehue. And yet I usually keep my INT and PER at 8 unless I’ve got enough min-maxing to raise everything to 10. :V

Size 16 cities, 10x enemy spawn rate, classic zombies

Tried to start in an evac shelter, got the ‘no evac shelter found’ error.
Spawned in the middle of the city surrounded by zombies.

!!FUN!!

Size 16. How do you NOT implode from the lagpocalypse?

I was attempting to back up @ night in my car at a whopping 9mph. I clipped a fence… yes fence. and I blew up. The fireball was impressive. took out two houses. Next time I remember to move the gas tank away from the sides of the vehicle…
