How did you last die?

Don’t know if this helps, but I usually install curtains on all of my windshields so if I get surprised by turrets while driving, I can just close them so they can’t see me :)[/quote]

The thing is, I wanted the turrets to see me, thinking that I could hide behind my car and let the car soak up all the bullets. It didn’t work.

Also, this was at the beginning of the game, and I was really just focused on trying to get out of town and find a good place to call home, so I never really thought to install curtains.

I named my character Peter Parker and was killed in a spider basement

Protip; even in real life unless your car has been specifically reinforced before hand to resist bullets (as cop cars are) most bullets will go right through it (excluding the actual engine block for a fair portion). What you are seeing there isn’t a bug, it’s realism. :stuck_out_tongue:

I staggered home drunk one night, forgetting about the nearby minefield.

Hey, a new flying monster, somekind of worm!
Oh, can’t hit it with my gun!
I just hide here at the doorway with my machette like a crafty individual.
A beam of what?
Oh, my shelter just collapsed on me almost killing me and I don’t seem to hit the bugger in melee.
How lovely, it just ate my face, so FUN!
Fuck you homewreckers.
Errrr, a working solution to these would be nice.

…that’s new. What the hell was it called? D:

Actually, it seems to be a combination attack between a flaming eye, the house destroying beam, and a hunting horror, the flying worm.
Both are old monsters, but hunting horrors are very uncommon.

The solution is sunlight and explosives.

Ah right. A flying, laser-shooting, face-eating monster would be funny though. o3o

How far does that damn homewrecker hit?!?
Tried to look for one when the first house collapsed on me, but to no avail.
So naturally decided dodging indoors would be a great idea, since EVEN lightning doesn’t strike twice to same spot!

Eye lasers seem to have the most range out of all the monster attacks, since it seems like they’ll stare at you from farther away than AM turrets or other gun-using machines will fire from.

Just hate em.
Nothing wrong with “tough, but fair”, but Flaming Eyes when havin room to move are just evil!

They can be nasty, but I’ve gotten lucky and clobbered them to death without getting a death-laser result before. Only thing is every stare attack they make adds duration to telesickness, so that can fuck you over in the long run even worse.

They can kill you with a laser?

Well, count me in then among the lucky. I’ve had encounters with them on multiple playthroughs, and I’ve just mindlessly charged toward them assuming that I won’t be killed. The most recent one was on my current game, too, during the first few days. Encountered it in the forest, and punched and stunned it to death.

But yeah, their destruction beam is long. I followed a trail of broken trees about two or so map tiles long in order to find the eye.

On the subject of portals though, I found a survivors note saying that bombing the portal makes it worse. I am curious… how do they make it worse?

I THINK it’s supposed to do damage, but collapsing buildings and wrecking vehicles are the main hazards the eye-beam presents.

Also, sadly as far as I can tell the portals do nothing. D:

I think they periodically spawn monsters- even moar flaming eyes of evil.

According to the lore it makes the portals bigger or something. Wonder what happens if someone throws a mininuke at a portal in-game?

Or an RDX charge.
