How did you last die?

Curious, does Parkour expert help with that because my last toon was Parkoure expert and being thrown had very little impact. Have you noticed a difference between just being thrown and slammed through a wall. Had another toon who had the same and was basically unharmed no parkour expert that time.

That was a well constructed paragraph.
FYI, parkour helps if you hit the ground, but not if you hit a wall.
Middle of night an animatronic cow decided to bring me some grapes and screw me in a very uncomfortable place (Yes the back of a Volkswagen).

Moo.

Interesting to note, don’t rely on EMP’s I thought it would at least hurt the thing, it seemed to just put in the mood more more for loving.
Huh, that sounds like a bug in the animittronic animal code, EMPs should help out there.

posting more to get this in my new replies than anything

last 15 deaths or so have been people exploring labs in lab challenge.

I have been killed by brute
killed by AI’s after they robbed me and I retailiated thinking I could get away with it once they were fleeing in the corner never going anywhere
killed by turrets when I spawned in a room with nowhere I could go EXCEPT to run into turret fire and die
the coding deciding that player is ALWAYS target priority even when the mob that the enemy was attacking is shoulder to shoulder with you
luring a zombie tech to duke it out with an AI that had stolen from me, then hiding in an adjoining room with no other exit, then sudden boom and wall and door on fire. I got smoked to death except that when the entire giant room filled to the brim with smoke I decided to ditch the room and run through the flaming metal door. Opened the door on fire I had closed behind myself and attempted my first 1 tile fire run with 0 success. I assume a grenade was thrown by someone or something?
spawning trapped in the armory with lots of awesome weapons but nothing that could break the door or get me out in any way. That was the best start ever until I couldn’t do anything.
spawning in the lab pond with no explosives in it to blow the glass or any other method of escape (suicide again)
ants not fighting back against zombies that attacked them

Fun so far because losing is FUN! Hoping my latest string of characters Athena ‘Gypsy’ Foxtail get to do something exciting. Ima have to keep a character around as an anchor for other spawns once I spawn in the original lab again. That lab was lots of fun! Also there are so many CBMs and two different types of teleporter items, Id really like to mess with all in one neat pile…

Not necessarily. I’d thought they were goo-driven machinery in somewhat similar fashion to the shockers, rather than bots, so I didn’t make a big deal of it. ???

Death.

Death killed me.

Just tested this, a few EMP grenades totally wrecked an animatronic cow.

:stuck_out_tongue: i think an emp testing chamber could be interesting in science labs, and perhaphs a bionic related to it

“Hmm … I wonder how close I can get to these milspec turrets by using the trees for cover?”

Use the heavy survivor armor when playing with turrets. Or power armor. Or cloaking. Coz accidents happen to everybody. I’ve lost too many survivors to such things to know.

I was just doing pretty well, about a week in and I just randomly starting taking damage. Last thing I did was eat ant meat, so I’m thinking brain parasite or something? The only notifications I got were “You were hurt”.

My most badass character so far just died.

Sam Stein.

Starting in a LMOE shelter in a world with harsh conditions (large cities, high spawn rates, low item spawns), he stepped outside to look for food one day. Outside, he found a zombie horde. Oh dear.

However, this was not his end, for he had been training his dodging skills extensively by practicing against the fish that somehow attacked him from the river in the LMOE shelter. With naught but a trusty pipe and the strength of his arms, he challenged the horde, roaring his defiance at them. At first, he merely picked off any that came near at night, but then… but then, one of them dropped a Fire Axe. With this new weapon, and skills earned through hours of zombie bashing, he started to challenge the horde more openly.

Oh, he slew a great, great many of them, but in the end, inevitably, one scored a deep wound upon him, and though he tried to cleanse the wound with cauterizing fire, it did not aid him. With no antibiotics in sight, he waiting for nightfall, then struck a path out of the horde, in search of antibiotics.

But alas, none were to be found. Not in the nearby mansion. Not in the evac shelter beyond, not in the refugee shelter, and not in any of the houses desperately searched through.

Sam Stein finally fell to the infection after about 3 solid days of constant combat, starting basically from 0 skills. he killed shocker brute, zombie soldiers and a myriad of other beasties, but in the end, it was the smallest of all organisms that felled him.

Always dis shiet. When you don’t need some medicine - it’s always out there. When you need it - it’s nowhere to be found.

I think cauterization is only useful to stop severe bleeding - it does squat against infection. :frowning:

It does heal infected wounds in theire early state with a certain chance of success.

needs to be cauterization pads :stuck_out_tongue: cause why wouldn’t the future have them…

Was finally really doing well with a char. Had a nice little safehouse, guns, meds, food, all the good stuff. Decided I wanted to build a wall, and that a car would help me carry around bulky building materials as well as act as a power source once the safehouse was a proper fort. Got quite lucky and found a police car in 100% shape right next to the safehouse, go me!

Didn’t bother to read up on driving beyond how to start the car. Turns out pressing “forward” keeps increasing your speed rather than just making you go forward. Wouldn’t have been a problem except that someone had left a roadblock in the middle of the hiway I was learning to drive on. Survived that crash pretty much unscathed somehow, but did not survive the tank bots manning the roadblock.

This game is DF !!FUN!!.

Nice death. makes me envious XD

Hahaha, try disabling cruise control, it’s much better that way. You still need to press 5 to make he car keep going in the same speed though, but it feels more organic.

meh having 50 different sets of controls in a single game feels organic to me. 3 in main menu alone…maybe 4. DF fun alright :stuck_out_tongue:

Just had the most million-to-one death ever.

It was a “Really Bad Day” start, spawn rate = 1.3. I spawned in a garage with a zombie and a zombie dog. I figured I’d just trap them in the garage and run. I took one step, and BAM!, both of them turned into zombie dancers. It was the first legit Thriller I’d ever seen. I took another two steps, and there was an explosion outside. (I’m thinking a tankbot or something.) The two dancers turn into hulks. I opened the garage door to run, and there were about 7 more outside. Within like 5 turns of starting.

I ain’t even mad. That was just impressive.
