Ripperoni probably Eddie. The last time I died in a lab was when I headbutted an exploding robot whilst naked; not a good idea.
My last character death was while testing a new feature.
Random character gives me a tweaker. Eat a datura seed to establish baseline morale effect. Proceed to debug-add the Spiritual trait in order to test its interaction with further datura seeds. Eat one more seed to verify that the morale boost is being properly applied.
Get attacked by a black rat.
Attempt to defend myself, just for a laugh before quitting. Fail miserably.
Fail again and again.
Sit there, laughing my butt off as my test character is slowly nibbled to death by an aggressive rodent.
Reflect on the fact that DDAās virtual gene pool has been pruned of yet another walking failure.
My longest lasting character in recent memory got mopped out by a chicken walker from two blocks away while I was sunday shopping (see ālooting homesā). I had my base set up any everything. Havenāt been this tight over this game in quite a while. Fortunatly my new character spawned nearby the town in my prior life. Now Iām plotting on this robot.
Ran away from a chickenwalker, stumbled onto a bandit camp, avoided getting shot through staunch prayers to RNGesus, lured the bandits into a zombie horde, only to get shot by the chickenwalker.
His dad must have been an engineer and his mom a bloodhound.
I highly recommend any rifle you can mod down to Dispersion 0 and that uses long-range ammo (a Mosin-Nagant, for instance, makes chicken walkers a joke, but you could probably adapt anything that uses the right ammo, especially if you have a sniper conversion kit).
Alternately, maybe the cover of nightāor smoke bombsāand an EMP grenade, or in a pinch even simpler explosives like regular grenades.
8 days into a Very Bad Day Scenario, Manage to find a working car, refuel it, and drive it back to my evac shelter. took a bit of damage, but overnight sleep fixes me right up. Wake up and get ready to clean some water and cook some meat. I proceed to drop my braiser indoors of my evac shelter because itās raining outside. I then drop 4 branches, onto the braiser and light it. all is good so far lets cook some meat. WTF why is the evac shelter collapsing on me? Why the hell did the braiser not contain the fire. OH FFS Iām SUCH A NOOB. I didnāt activate the braiser, I just dropped it on the ground. What a crappy way of dying. Cought on fire in a collapsed shelter, all because I didnāt actually activate the braiser before lighting a fire. SOOOOO lame. Really pissed me off. I had SO MUCH gear in that shelter.
Wassup FrAvatar,
I started a really bad day scenario and I actually managed to find antibiotics in the house I spawned in and a ton of medical gear and a backpack before the house burnt down. I exited the house only to be greeted by two mi-gosā outside directly on both sides of the house. Ultimately I didnt survive very long.

Yeah thatās the nature of that starting scenario, itās sooo difficult. Yay for the meds boo for dying too soon. Now tonight I get to start over again from scratch when streaming tonight. Iām not sure if Iām going to start the Very Bad Day Scenario, then again when I pick any other scenario I regret not having the extra build points that Very Bad Day gives you.
Who am I kidding, Itās going to be Very Bad Day again.
So a few games ago I was sitting in a grocery, watching a tankbot pelting away at a horde of zombies and cheerfully eating popcorn.
This was incredibly amusing until the tankbot ran out of zombies to shoot, and looked for a new target. I died with a mouthful of popcorn. (I donāt even like popcorn IRL.)
My favourite death was shortly before 0.B shipped. Iād set up home in the loading dock of a shopping mall and decided to borrow a car and go for a little drive to a nearby mine. This resulted in an unfortunate encounter with a flaming eye, which proved no match for my car. I decided against descending the mine, and returned to my crib.
At some point while I was gone, a zombie horde had descended onto the shopping mall. I decided Iād just grab my crap from the loading bay and find somewhere else to bunk up, so I started driving around in circles, trying to lure the zombies away from the mall entrance.
As I was doing so, some of the zombies formed a nice little bunch and I couldnāt resist - I lined the car up, and accelerated.
Obviously Iād attracted some attention. Just before I hit them, I auto-teleported out of the car and straight into the middle of the bunch. I probably wouldnāt have survived anyway, but just to make sure, the now driverless car went into a skid and mowed me down.

Can you try using the latest expiremntal build tonight? Using the mods- extra vehicle parts, icecoons weapons pack, animatronics, boats, multiple z-levels, and rouge like classics?

Iāll see what I can do, except Iām not a big fan of experimental builds, with my luck iāll get a version with a hidden crash that will wipe my save haha. Weāll see tonight when i get started if I can get the latest experimental build and play that.
I death id like to see. āfinds nuclear missile silo. launches nuke. accidentally launches nuke at missile silo.*ā

My most interresting way to go was via getting burned to a crisp from a NPC wielding a simple flamethrowerā¦ After I had looted a Black widow house with fitting basement.
The NPC didnāt laugh very long as I activated the mininuke I found in the house and he went boom for sure after I died!
A very silly way to go: Mutant start, took radiogenic, robust genetics, unstable genetics (for the nice random mutation effect) and minor radioactivity. So I was 30 days in and had nearly all tools, tons of food, a small farm and a vehicle in the making. So one day he wakes up and I see damage on all body parts, think to myself: Maybe just sick, so let him take some meds and work on stuff. While cooking some mutagens I get the warning that he gets hurtā¦
Letās just say that it took me 10min irl to find the reason: I went and made stuff to help him with his ādiseaseā and in the end I took the geiger cntrā¦ and what did I see? 400+ units of radiation on him and a quick check of the mutations: YEP! Minor radioactivity turned into radioactivity while he was sleeping. Took purifier and got rid of it, but I had to leave my base to not get radiated further and as soon as I step outta the door: A NPC with a simple flamethrower greets me warmly.
I simply LOVE those NPCs!

I gotta say that NPCās have flamethrowers all too often. seriously. Devs take note of that. TOO MANY NPC FLAMETHROWERS!
I wonder if, between necessity, common available materials, and personal biases concerning āWelp, the world fell apartā, if there is a typical item a survivor would most often go for? I mean, surely thereās a few folks who concluded āEhh, nowās as good a time as any to make a shit-ton of fireā, but I have to wonder if guns and knives wouldnāt be most predominant. Based on no statistics whatsoever. Personally, Iāve rarely run into a flamethrower npc as of late.
First death: Moose ambush during day 1 ā¦
Second death: Opened the door to my shelter, day 1, and took a burst of bullets from a turret just outside at the end of the road. Bled to death inside.
Third death: Got to day 3 and was doing fine, tried to loot a store and was trying to avoid a bunch of zombies. Didnāt notice the Chicken Walker in the middle that promptly blew me to bits.
I have some from a buddy of mine.
His first death in the game. Using lighter on gas pump.
His second death. Using lighter on room door with no escape.
His 3rd-17th deaths. Crashing a car into a gas pump.
His 18th death. Caught by Giant Spider.
His 19th-23rd deaths. Crashing a car into a gas pump.
That is how my buddy died his first 23 times in the game.
Okay, from the first two I was going to say that maybe your friend shouldnāt use a lighter, but now Iām getting the feeling that maybe he shouldnāt go near gas pumps.
Never attempt to throw a flashlight a shocker brute, Itās not going to be worth stopping for.
