Gods of the Cataclysm (Challenge Thread)

Essentially if you get the ‘kill jabberwock’ quest, save it for later.

One thing I noticed. It could probably be faster to get the million dollar milestone if wandering NPCs are set on. Like… encounter NPC, give them valuables to get all their cash. Retrieve valuables, find next NPC. Managed to get a nice 100,000$ in a week on default NPC spawn - though sitting around waiting for NPCs to show up is not effective.

Yeah, random NPC are SO abusable.

Without that, most reliable way I could come up with to get to the $1million was crafting smoked meat to sell to the refugee center guy - $10 each adds up… eventually. It would take quite a while, though (obviously).

I’ve been collecting cash cards for 8 years. I have 48,000 kills, mostly zombies. I only have $600,000. Random NPCs aren’t cheating, they’re the only way to get the milestone in any amount of time.

If I recall, you can also gain cash from NPC-only outpost missions, though that would take time as well since it only pays a few dollars per hour. Basically NPC trading is the fastest way to gain cash. I’m trading the same diamond away to every NPC I meet that I’m surprised that the jewel isn’t carrying an unholy aura from all the NPCs who died after my survivor backstabbed them to take back the diamond.

Time to ascend, I think.

Reinforced corpse

Chicken walker killed in melee

Hulk killed with cash

Shoggoth killed unarmed

Tank drone killed fairly

I hope you accept this as proof.

My fey threshold

And my ride

Will Yoko be accepted as the new goddess of fire?

Alright, another goddess! But why isn’t your car called the Green Machine, you missed a great opportunity there.

How do you reinforce a corpse, by the way? :v

There was an old bug, I’ve got a screenshot somewhere of a reinforced crawling zombie corpse.

Also, basic repair kits can repair bone.

Skeletons will greatly enjoy this.

Would a broken cyborg count? They’re made of steel, and they do leave a corpse.

Anything counts.

judo did wierd thing too sometimes but it was a bug

Man, I was so close. Encountered an NPC, attacked him, and somehow my survivor kept hitting him and the guy won’t die. Curious, I use debug and check on the NPCs hit points. As it turns out, it seems that my survivor kept on hitting already broken limbs instead of going for the head and torso. Pretty much being a psycho, since she’s experienced with bashing weapons while using ninjutsu, and she kept scoring crits.

I kind of tried monitoring it, and it was close. NPC was close to 1.5k pain. Would have been amusing if that NPC managed to do the reach 2k pain challenge.

It would be amusing if any NPC managed to reach godhood with some help.

What challenges/milestones could the NPC do? Can you inject an NPC with mutagen?

Yeah, but only ones that trust you enough.

You can also probably hand a cash card worth one million to an NPC. If an NPC trusts you enough, will they wear armor/clothes you give them.

Hmm, some of the challenges might be possible as well. Would it count if the NPC rode alongside a car that goes through a school?

Making the first NPC god could be a fun challenge in itself…

god of stupidity?

I’m taking a short break from Cataclysm to research for my writing class novel. And by research I mean I’m genning DF worlds and I’m going to write about the most interesting one. But when I get back I’ll make an NPC a god. Unless someone can beat me.
