Re: superalloy:
I canāt remember the exact stats, but scientifically spider silk is five times as strong as standard silk. It has to have the stickiness chemically removed, a process I donāt really know off the top of my head, but it could have an excellent niche in game as a full body close to skin layer suit with low warmth and high cutting protection. But no blunt protection obviously.
Using a metal frame coupled with a strong material in a net like fashion. Spider silk maybe an interesting piece of armor.
Another good reason to use a light hard material in armor would be because the soft stuff(kevlar) only catches and creates a cone like shapeā¦and then you are damaged or dead. Using some ultra light but sturdy material would slow a bullet down to mitigate damage. Example; several thin sheets of a light metal in key areas. Such as over the heart to prevent instant death. Possibly ceramic over metal? But with being able to swap out broken plates with new.
A caveat for melee:
Apparently Kevlar wonāt do a darn thing against a sharp blade. Go figure.
