Gills or rebreather? Those would handle O2 fine.
Survivors can also hold their breath for some time before drowning damage kicks in, so if you’ve taken one step and not gotten damage, that’s acceptable. If you’re under for over a minute, though, I’d start to worry.
No I didn’t have any equipment like that. I was a fresh spawn fleeing for my life from a horde. It was about a seven map tile wide river and I had zero swimming skills.
