What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

It makes !!2!! sound! Thats a lower decibal than walking \o/

I must not be fully understanding the horde mechanics.

I suspect that hordes remain buggy as usual. I need to give them a thorough test again sometime.

Wait, I thought hip flasks could hold 7 of alcohol?! Now it holds only 1?! Rito pls!

It holds 1 unit of volume. Check to see what type of drink you filled it with. For a lot of drinks, 1 unit of volume equals multiple units of drink. :V

In fact MOST of the boozes have 7 units per 1 volume, so that sounds about right.

Depends on the substances original units.

Cheap wine can be spread pretty thin, and is by far the best bang for your boozy buck.
Then comes the 21 unit rum, whiskey, etc that do hold 7 per hip flask
Then the 18 strawberry suprises
And then come the 3 unit max long island ice teas and co. that are essentally drunk in the same quantities of water.

Hmm. I guess Stout and Long island iced tea only give you 1 in the hip flask, but vodka gives you 7…

Huh, I didn’t know that specialty drinks only hold so few.

Home sweet home. Day 31 of winter, and my survivor has returned home from the ice lab tour. Seriously, all ice labs in winter. If I didn’t prepare for this throughly it would have been a very bare trip. Sluggernaut took another forest shortcut, and at 19mph it plowed through those big trees easily enough. About 6 map tiles of forest will give the vehicle a slight battering, so I reckon if I pad things here and there this baby could go through large areas of forest - provided that there’s stops for repairs every 5 map tiles and there’s several floodlights and security cameras to spare just in case.

Spring, summer, and autumn will mostly be farming, and crafting. Lots of crafting as I plan to make enough concrete to shape a base over an ice lab. I already have an ice lab in mind to move in to, but with my discovery of the Sluggernaut’s forest plowing powers, I’m wondering if I should explore far further beyond unexplored areas for a more delectable location for a base.

For now I’ll craft and craft and sometimes farm. I’ll finish the missions of the outpost, too. Next winter I probably won’t have enough concrete yet, so that season will be for exploration.

Most mixed drinks are a full size drink, aka 250mL. The portions/volume is based on (more or less) serving size, hence liquor has 7 or so, cause… actually that’s like two shots to a portion but whatever, nobody’s a lightweight in the cataclysm, right?

In other news, I’m so happy that my local military surplus finally got invisibility cloaks back in stock, they’re so great for paintball.

^Found a basic power armor on one surplus store a while back.

I found a UPS in some random closet once, next to some bondage gear. Basement was full of cannabis, and the kitchen had about six pots and no other utensils. Must’ve been one wacky resident.

I wonder how the game places items. I mean, usually there’s common sense.

Sometimes the zombie drops can be quite amusing. What, a zombie master with a nanoskirt? Okay then.

Item groups are pure hilarity in a can, yeah.

I’m not totally certain if it was a real shrieker or not, but I’m like 99% sure it was a hallucination. In which case, it’s odd, to me at least, that it set off a shotgun trap killing me. Not totally sure if this is possible again, but it would explain the three or four other traps I’m almost sure I didn’t set off blowing up in my face in this survivor house. WHYYYY SCHIZO WHYYYY

Someone with a devilish sense of humor cast Phantasmal Killer on you, maybe? o3o

Is a strange grove just a few rooms 1 zlevel below the ground with some monsters a portal and no loot? It seems like an awful lot of fighting for no payoff

There should be some scattered loot inside it. The real main prize is dropped by one of the monsters that spawns in there. ;w;

Spending the day fighting for my right to inhabit my home.

Perhaps not the best time to try to sober up, but damnit I have a general timetable to keep! I need to explore the area around my home before summer so I can plan my moves. In addition, I don’t particularly like the farm’s layout and I dont plan to farm unless I can set and forget the seeds so I need to fortify the excess area.

Right now Ive got a my best armor on, an mbr vest w/kevlar and a bunch of low storage crap. Ive got a pack of hallucination killers and some caffine pills. Im taking fluid sacs as needed and some painkillers. I unfortunately have only a PBA mask for smoke protection but enh.

With my katana and backup nail bat for shockers, I am making free use of fire even through the rain, and I have a backup short shotgun and spraycan flamer. The necromancers are probably my biggest threat due to the sheer amount of horde; even bigger than the hulks and brutes.

I guess Ill see if the hordes will eventually wash over and dissipate or if they wash over me. But Im getting so much fabric to sew up. At 550 kills thus far, lets see what goes where.

pedit: smashing zoms takes up stamina, butchering does not.
ppedit: A zombie hulk on fire looks suspiciously like a zombie necromancer

I had an easy day, until a shocker brute and a hulk played pong with me. I got them, but not before pain.
I even managed to heal myself up some with first aid kits, but. I popped some prozac and put on some tunes and its actually mitagated the withdrawl morale pentalty, especially when masochism is factored in.
A necromancer isnt helping at this point, and Ive run out of ways to kill them all until I rectify this situation.

Whew. Took about 15 hours or so, but the 20k volume of items has been properly sorted out in all the appropriate containers in the base. 15 days left before spring, and there’s probably a few more days extra before I can start farming. Might need more farm plots. Got lots of seeds, but I reckon several more farm plots will be good.

Need to craft a lot of extra liquid fertilizer, though. I have more than enough right now, but it would be good to have even more since I plan to farm a ton until next winter. Booze producing crop will be top priority, as well as strawberries to be turned into strawberry surprise, followed by sugar beets and other fruits that can be turned to sugar. After that, crops that can be used as cooking ingredients that’s not booze is next on priority.

I’ve powdered about 700 ant eggs so far. Only another 500 or so to go. When I’m done I’ll have enough for 24,000 portions of scrambled eggs.

But why? Ant Eggs are the ultimate portable lunch. And the penalty for eating them is soo small.
