What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

So I’m in the southern- most house in town that I’ve cleared out about 50% reading my book about historic armor smithing, and this asshole walks through my bedroom door pointing an M4 at my face. I thought I was done for and got PISSED because this is the longest I’ve ever made it with one character. So I did the only thing I could: sprinted across the room to my Remy 870, avoiding one bullet but taking another to the torso along the way. He squeezed off one more shot at me before I Rambo-charged him, took 5 short-range shotgun blasts to finish him off but that’s ok considering I only took two bullets in the process.

On the bright side, at least it’s not a flamethrower wielder, or a shotgun, or katana. Either 3 on a hostile NPC almost always means death early on.

Found an ice lab, and upon reaching the first basement I discovered that it’s connected to a slime pit. Rushing to nab all the essential items I need; first rushed to the deepest level and found out that it’s a portal basement, so yeah, amazing. Ha ha ha… sarcasm. Nabbing all the chemicals, mutagens, and ammunition I could nab off the lab. Making use of a laser pistol to take care of the blobs.

Explosive calorie intake fits the Thanksgiving season for us Americans just fine.

I may soon reach a goal I’ve had since I first started playing this game, fill an aluminum keg with home-brew. Then I’ll just take it, along with my 39 mini-nukes, over to the Mycus by the 4th of summer to “celebrate.” !FUN!

Also, the H&K G3 with the mods is powerful enough to go through reinforced glass. As for the boozing, general rule now is to drink whenever I get a message that the survivor needs a drink. Since the message shows up around the time when the thrashed state is downgraded to drunk, it’s more or less the same for most part.

Yessssss. Trudging through an ice lab filled with blobs was worth it. Barracks room has the rivtech battle rifle. And maybe as equally rare, I finally found a fresh pack of uncooked hot dogs chillin in the elevator area with the human corpses. Two of them.

Car is parked quite far from the lab. Don’t want them blobs being a nuisance to the Sluggernaut.

Huehuehue. Hmm. At what point would I be confident enough to try and punch a spirit of fire to death…

Hmm. The rivtech battle rifle for most part isn’t as powerful as H&K G3, depending on the ammo. Like the .308 Winchester ammo is stronger and has better range than the 8x40 JHP caseless, and lesser dispersion, though it loses out by 12 to armor pierce, and has higher recoil (which at this point seems like a non-issue). The 7.62x51mm M80 is weaker than the .308 by a little but still stronger than the JHP caseless, and has slightly better armor pierce than the .308 (8, while the .308 has 2, and the caseless has 14).

Overall, the H&K seems to be better for most situations, and would still be usable when armor piercing is required. On the other hand, the crafting items required for handmade ammo wins out for the caseless; as it doesn’t require casings, primers, and most importantly gunpowder. It’s got the edge once I run out of ammo for the G3, at least, though the overall stats for handmade caseless rounds are quite low.

What about shotguns? In this run I one shotted a chicken walker with a combat shotgun using shotgun slug, I was about 5 ~ 7 tiles away from it. I was invisible, cloak cbm, found the shotgun and the ammo in the corpses near it hahaha.

Well, shotguns are nice, but lack a ton of range. Case in point, group of 50 Zs went after my survivor in broad daylight. Aside from smokers who are blocked by smoke, none of the zombies got closer than 10 tiles away before dying. Was able to one shot most Zs 20 tiles away, and still able to reliably do high damage to zombies at the farthest range. That’s just with the rivtech rifle. The H&K G3 was able to explode several types of zombies.

And amazingly apt timing, a tank drone was at a road barricade. From 50 tiles away, no cloak, broad daylight. Winner is my survivor with the battle rifle. Took roughly 13 shots; a few grazing hits between hits that did 50 damage. The tank never got to it’s firing range; it got destroyed with rifle fire. It got around 36 tiles away from my survivor before kicking the bucket.

A survivor trashed by whiskey, too.

In fairness, though, I’ve overused the rifles skill (forgetful, but has enhanced memory banks, no fast/slow learner) to the point of absurdity.

G3’s ae sexy as hell. I wish I could fine one soon :frowning: But for right now, I’m using CWD-63 from Icecoon’s weapons pack. Pretty much a gimped version of a SVD in .308.

Anyway, I just gibbed a zombear with a truck.

Day 42, spring.

My alter ego just killed her first Z master. Well, make that the first Z master I (as a player) ever killed. The loot was… fairly underwhelming. I think the only major Z I have yet to kill is the hulk - I already killed a brute a few days earlier. Tanto’s speed is brilliant.

Still miss a welder. Recipes not memorized tend to backfire on me. Eh.

Sexy indeed. Pretty much murderized an entire swarm of Zs at night. Sound be damned, while my survivor got pretty dang banged up I managed to clear an decent sized chunk of a neighborhood for my truck to pass through undisturbed later on.

Also, I am digging the greyed out colors at night. The green lighting using light amp or implanted night vision is pretty nice as well - pretty much made sure my survivor wouldn’t wander into a lit area by accident.

I do sometimes wish it was optional though. ._.

Have infection resistant mutation
get bit on on arm
have no way to treat it and hope the mutation saves you
get infected anyway.

Luck is good for you. Guess it’s time to hope for some antibiotics or a royal jelly.

Or a red potion.

Memory is fuzzy, but isn’t the infection/disease resistant traits provide a very little amount of resistance in the first place? I remember getting poisoned by spiders and bees quite a bit despite having poison resistant.

I mean, with the skills your survivor have you can always cauterize the wound over and over again. Unless it’s already at the green stage.

Theyll heal more, but unless you get the immune trait you cant really be suprised it still happens

Oh luck just LOVES me, antibiotics and a sawn off shotgun and ammo after i’ve ran out of ammo for my SMG in the one pharmacy.

Slaughtered an entire underground section of an ant hill. There’s probably some ants above the hill, but for now I’ll take everything. All the meat! All the eggs!

Also, alcohol addiction seems to have reached its peak. Messages about alcohol cravings are now more urgent, and survivor is hallucinating. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m spamming the leukocyte breeder, the survivor would probably be very dead.

Fuck me, I stood too close to a tankbot blowing up and it deafened me.

How long does the deafened effect stay? Or do I have it permanently?
