What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Oh that is derp. Might’ve tried to chuck a grenade I bet. Was it the strange grove, or elsewhere? o3o[/quote]
Yeah started at the grove.

Ah, makes sense as that’s likely the default. ^^"

Meanwhile on my latest adventure…I STILL haven’t cleared out the basement of where I started.

Got them best gloves.

That encumbrance/protection…
Zombie Necromancers and Zombie Masters seem to drop stuff from Arcana mod quite often. I don’t know how many offering chalices I have already…

Murdath, every single of your images are broken.

Hmm. Might be fairly high in chance I’m guessing? ;w;

Weird, I can see them just fine? Anyone else?

Yep, I always get at least some essence. And at this point there is a necromancer or a zombie master almost at every turn.

Having them drop essence at a decent rate should be fine, since nether monsters will drop far more. I hope the magic item/book rates aren’t too severe?

Though I suspect the real problem is you’re drowning in beefed-up zeds. :V

EDIT: I built a dinky little shack using wattle-and-daub walls, with thatched roofing, and a pine bed. I am now up to my eyeballs in pinecones.

Got around 600 pine boughs and 800 pine cones. The boughs will become booze. Cones I’m not sure on what to do with them.

Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li! It means that proceeding further will allow you to encounter the Shoggoths.

Probably another shout out to “At The Mountains of Madness” by Lovecraft.

They provide a decent amount of meat and fat. Haven’t encountered any shoggoths close to where they are, though.

GET BENT SCRUB

Pine nuuuuuts. <3

Proved very useful after I had to scavenge for so many damn pine trees. I had a square hut with a 3x3 floorspace, the center tile left unroofed, plus a pine bed (being added in a PR).

Let me do the math…278 pine boughs. For that dinky little hut.

Nah, I don’t mind them. I have the Nitou-Ryu martial art and a Rising Sun that I’ve never activated. I have over a hundred essence now, also managed to gather some of the books by visiting mansions and a strange grove (some fun stuff in here btw). Anyway I’ve arcana skill on 10 already, turned on the music on my base and read those nasty morale bombs in a night.

Now I want to try my hand at some glyphs. I want to summon stuff, I have a pet carrier that I want to try on a shoggoth.

Those wattle and daub walls require so many different things that I would probably just cut down trees and make wood or log walls. I’ve yet to find any clay, maybe I’m not looking on the right spot.

Ah, thank you. Hope it proves to be Fun then. X3

And the reason is you have to construct clay mounds, which are made from shallow water (not salt water). This requires a digging stick or other source of level-1 quality. Then you smash it. Tends to yield around half a dozen on average.

I think the sand mounds need to be tweaked though, I got over 1000 units of sand smashing just one sand mound.

In any case, I’m lowering the amount of clay/limestone/quicklime and straw/cattail/pine needed for each step of the wall by 1, and reducing the straw/birch/pine cost of thatched roofing by 3.

2 more days before winter. Gathered 800 pine boughs, and they’ll all be turned into pine wine must. Binging on atomic coffee as I’m gonna make my survivor craft the whole thing in one go. 20 units need 200 pine boughs, plus sugar and yeast. Got enough for all of them, and it takes 26 hours per 20 units. So roughly 4-5 days with breaks to eat and drink coffee in between.

Then it’ll be off to explore. Gonna start giving the survivor an alcohol addiction. Gonna bring some canteens filled with booze taken from liquor stores. Water as well as several of the booze has negative thirst values.

Probably has been asked here before, but how do you insert mods into a pre-genned game already? Arcana sounds interesting, and I can get some more map stuff generated easily due to being on a town near the border.

Also, Hydraulic Muscles and Krav Maga is amazing. I’m two-shotting hulks with no damage if i play my cards right.

Check your save’s folder, and open the file labelled “mods” to see a list of all mods its set to use.

Finished making the pine wine must. Produced quite a bit of it, as I needed to fill two fermenting vats to full and about almost half full on a third vat.

Dandelion wine has 660 portions on the keg, 15% full, while strawberry surprise has 167 portions, 5% full.

Gonna carry two large waterskins filled with booze, and one with water. Malt whiskey for now, as I found a second barrel of it.

We still need a booze with 0 addiction potential. o3o

Hmm. Grog, or small ale…

Current goal is to stay trashed as much as possible. Wasted is tempting for an extra challenge with the much larger stat loss and the chance to black out, though.

Also, going with a fun way to dispose of the explosives dropped by grenadiers and elites upon death. Kill them in melee, step to where their corpse is… then activate internal furnace and eat the bombs. Note that caution is still required, as the timer for other bombs will still tick down whenever one is eaten. Eat grenades first due to lower timer, then C4. Tear gas canisters can’t be eaten, though.

Upon testing it works on mininukes as well. Curious, I debugged an RDX and ANFO charge, and activated them. Ate them both, somehow.
