Alright, so new character freshly spawned. So after like 2 minutes of mucking about trying to cook fresh meat but not having the required things, I go check out the public works building nearby. Jackpot! Saws, chisels, tongues, nails, pretty much everything I wanted. So I’m taking the second load back to the shelter I had boarded up when a moose appears and kills me.

Meanwhile i’m stripping corpses of their clothes to turn into rags so I can fashion myself a trenchcoat and become the Dr. Octopus of the plant world with my vine limbs.
just holding out in an abandoned store because why go through the effort of running yourself ragged collecting boards and nails and such when someone’s done it for you.
Tailoring skills not too high up there though, might wanna find a library…

I was waiting for someone to find out about the dull replica weapons and rage.

Speaking of which I need to get back into making some more buildings, maybe add a few more variants of various buildings including the antique store.

I’m actually curious if anyone has been screwed over by picking up a replica sword without inspecting it first yet.

Well i need to share this adventure:

I finally decided to make a completely cheat/exploit/savescum free run. No uping the initial points either (but i did remove the max point limit). Good stats, a few negs traits and a couple of pos ones, just an normal guy and no skills. Started in the shelter, got the supplies, made myself a sling and and crowbar and of i went to a nearby gas station. Unfortunately there was a portal right outside of it. A Kreck and an Eye (which i saw to late) were chilling there. Thinking i could take the kreck i went in… and missed… again and again and again.
Turns out the Eye had given me shakes and i was unable to hit the bastard. I fought for a bit more but then an other kreck appeared and i run. Unfortunately as i was escaping i was blinded and ,while trying to follow the road found my self with a few zombie friends along for the ride, on top of the now 3 krecks. The zombie were easy to loose in the forrest but the krecks weren’t. A poor survivor managed to pull two of em away but i still had one on me and i had almost no torso left. Traps dont work on em so i cant pull them thorough a field of them and there is no way i can take it on by myself. Well praise the Cata gods for i found i military wreck with what looked like a gun on it. It was a Packed LAW. I desperately manage enough distance between me and the kreck using brushs to unpack it and fire. Boom. It worked. And now i stand before the bloody wreck with a huge shit-eating smile on me.

I love this game.

EDIT: Went north, found an other portal. Mi-go got me.

So apparently I’m trapped in this lab. I went in, started looting, went back to the stairs up, and could not for the life of me find them in the room the map claims they’re in.

Now looking for ideas, either to find the stairs, or to blast my way to the nearby LaMOE shelter. What goes through solid rock?

EDIT: and now I have frostbite.

Probably the upstair spawned under furniture. :-/

Jack/Jacqueshammer, Sonic resonator aug, pickaxe, dynamite, or C4 could all work. Mininukes would destroy terrain, but would be more trouble from radiation than they’re worth.
