In the past, if someone had told Holly she’d find herself in a teaching/leadership role she would of laughed it off. Such a thing would of seemed impossible but here she stood, the focus of a whole group as she spoke of the experiences she’d had and passed on the skills she had gained. It was surreal and sometimes she found herself wondering if this was all just a strange dream. There was Sterling, for all intents and purpose her defacto second in command. There was Josiah, a big, jolly, barrel of a man with a surprisingly self-deprecating sense of humour and others. And at the back was the newest member, a women by the name of Sarah. A former test subject and escapee from one of the many labs dotting the country.
From what she’d told Holly she’d been watching her for quite a while, keeping her distance, worried that her appearence would have her marked as a monster. But after seeing Holly return with a whole vehicle of survivors she’d taken the chance to approach while Holly had been making her usual patrols. She was shy and self conscious but after the terrible treatment the group of former captives had received at the hands of “normal” humans, the views those people had taken to any mutants, they’d been willing to look past appearences and went out of their way to make her feel welcome. It gave Holly a warm feeling inside to see her little clan grow, maybe humanity had a chance after all.
Another Survivor joins the clan!
And lessons in EVERYTHING begin, I intend to turn this group into the best equipped, biggest bunch of badasses around!

snatched up the semi truck after spending damned near a week re-locating it a second time because i didn’t mark it before, removed all my stuff off the solar car i’d been doodling around with and onto it, chopped the silly mirrors off the side and put windshields in the back instead and i’m good to go after attaching the laser turret to the front end.
took the stupid cube to the toxic waste site and activated it then shut the door and ran like hell, i don’t think it can open doors so maybe someday i’ll go back and see.
learned how to make a few mutagen recipes apparently so i decided to roll the dice on that and wound up mostly just wasting purifier shots and serum for the most part didn’t get much out of it, i ended up gaining smart, dextrous and very quick pain recovery at least, but i couldn’t manage to keep radiogenic without also getting minor radiation (personally tested death sentence with or without radiogenic, 100% broken) and i lost my very strong from before but it’s overall positive so whatever, wouldn’t have minded keeping disease immune or very fast healing but mutating is a gamble so oh well.
all in all i’ve massively upgraded my vehicle and at least partially moved into it, but there’s more that can be done to say the least and i mostly just put it back to perfect condition and threw in solars plus an electric engine, yay finally got that electronics skill book i needed to pass the hurdle and now i can remove security systems, fuck that feels too accomplished for nothing.

Went back to the bandit towers for the Bastion and to loot the hell out of the place, it’s a shame I don’t really trust NPCs with guns cos I can equip a small army with this lot and for once I actually have an army to equip. Still, with all the military gear I’ve picked up, outfitting them in full survivor gear shouldn’t be an issue.
i never get drops like that…do have some kind of mod or something?
Okay Slax i did the best i could with what i had. I know he wares gloves all the time and i assumed you have a Survivor Trench coat somewhere. I have nothing that remotely resembles Chitin armor so i kept your torso hidden with the coat. I need a good helmet too. Like i said…sorry its not 100% accurate to your gear. Anyway…i give you “digital Warlo” Enjoy.

If you mean the amount, almost all of those guns I took off the bandits I killed. The battle rifle iirc was the only one I didn’t, there was a soldier body site in the middle of the courtyard and I got it from there. If you mean the type, I do have a few of the gun mods active so it’s probably from those and I have enemy spawn rate set to 1.5 but I don’t know if that counts for bandits or not.

First mutation session proceeded with mixed results, I’ll be working on making more alpha mutagen to try and get them all robust genetics.
i used my semi to literally smash the wall into a bank vault, sadly all it had was some money bundles though.
found a second semi which i’m now beginning to disassemble and have used to repair the first, not sure if a large electric motor or enhanced puts out more actual horse power, i might install one of each, also the second semi has a somewhat good supply of diesel, which is great because the primary one is moving solely on solar power currently and has a few empty tanks.
i hate to say it, but i have to explore no matter what at this point, none of the cities nearby have anything that great, i could move south and gamble on a road leading west or it might just dead end, but it does seem to be the main paved direction.
what i want most is a tank ideally, then i could hole up for a month and really rebuild this semi properly, i think i need a camera control system.

Story time:
Tonight I was looting a town (with a zombie horde still very much in it and active). I had a pretty decent bike, so it was the standard protocol of riding in, quickly grabbing something and getting the hell out of there (on a bike). Plenty of maneuvering to get around Z and all that. So, at some point I noticed my torso was bleeding. “Huh” - I thought - “Must have failed to notice a feral predator hitting me… well, let me just ride to that dead scientist over there, loot it, and then I’ll leave the town and deal with the bleeding. The horde is closing in, but I have about a minute.” So I do that, ride to the scientist, stop the bike and reach out to loot it. It is at that point I notice the feral predator is actually STILL SITTING BEHIND ME on the bike and very much trying to eviscerate me. Fun times! Literally had to speed back up and ride for about 1-2 mins with the feral still sitting behind stabbing me in the back.

It took some… roundabout measures but I’ve got some underground farming started. unlimited potatoes (and other far less important veggies) are at hand!
Edit:
A more energy efficient set up, every mound is now at 17C with half the heaters. I’m looking forward to seeing if this works in winter, if it does, this will (imo) make grow basements more useful

It should work in winter, underground temperature doesn’t track above-ground temperature.
You don’t even need grow basements to farm underground anymore, because there are planters now.
