That sounds very excessive. I’ve only found one suit of light power armor once in all my playthroughs.
You basically never want to give turrets a chance. If you open a door and see one, shut it and walk away. Only mess with them if you have a console, or some proper strategy.
Wait til you have to survive a .50, or universe forbid the devs add a mortar turret that can see you well before you see it if there’s no break in LOS and gives you only a few turns to get the heck out of dodge after you hear SHI-I-INKGOOF!
I don’t disagree, I’ve never been a big fan of turrets and this just makes them worse.
Turrets, security bots, tank drone and chicken walkers are still the deadliest things wandering the planet.
If you’ve got a fast aiming weapon and can approach a turret from two doors, you can potshot it to death. Open the door, aim for one tick and fire, close the door. Then go to the other door (forcing it to re-direct its aim) and repeat until you get a lucky shot and kill it. They’re not smart enough to predict that you’re going to be at the other door so you can exploit the re-aim time.
Only really worthwhile if you need to get at something in the room with it or whatever, but doable. Make sure you’re not slowed before attempting this though!
Don’t give them ideas!
So my mall character died earlier today. They became an alcoholic and somehow the bottom floor of the mall caught fire. I kept hearing loud crashes but, since the zombie rate was larger than I normally go with, I assumed it was zombie crashes. I was so focused getting situated on the second floor that when I finally went to the bottom floor, I ended up surrounded by fire. I caught on fire because I tried to put some of it out and wound up dying from the mixture of old zombie wounds and fire burns.
Moral of the story: Don’t have tunnel vision in setting yourself up.
Damn it all. I had spent a lot of time learning Haste, and I forgot about that, too. Don’t be like me, kids and kiddettes. Remember your options.
Log entry. Day 14.: I was about to walk away. I got all of ten feet before I head to stop though. She looked terrified. All alone and hungry. I just couldn’t walk away. So instead I walked up to her carefully and slowly. I held out my hand. " hey honey…take my hand. You’re safe now. Its gonna be okay"
Fare ye well, you zombie- and robot-laden deathtrap of a lab offshoot. If I ever need obscure chemicals or chemistry gear, this place will be worth the ammo I had to spend on it. Had a tight spot the first run in; got surrounded and only just managed to make it out with two broken legs and everything else almost done for. I think I’m in love with my hydraulic gauntlet.
Log entry day day 16: Me and Liz found one of those LMOE shelters. It has some useful stuff…and most importantly. …it has a nice comfortable bed.
Rycon’s latest episode got me wondering, “What really would happen if my vehicle caught aflame while transporting a mininuke?” So I found out.

In the game that isn’t a psychotic test of whether or not things go boom, I just got finished building myself a buggy to transport all my loot from the lab I started in to another that isn’t situated underneath a prison. Imagine my dismay upon realizing that I can’t drive on railroad tracks and will have to turn my Underbuggy into an Underbike. Seriously.
Quietly she prowled the lower levels of the ruins, some great force had sundered this towering building as if with a giant blade and Arshes had been determined to find the source of such power. The surface had been crawling with strangely deformed creatures, things twisted beyond natures intent or guidence. They were hostile so she’d wiped them out, perhaps she’d done them a favour, she couldn’t imagine anyone willingly or knowingly assuming such a form but the lower levels… Those were the stuff of nightmares, more of the twisted horrors of course but also living walls of pulsating flesh, air thick with poison and sounds to chill the blood. Her Mask of True Sight only made things seem worse and as she moved deeper and deeper into this hellish place she became less interested in whatever power had created it and more in its destruction.
Some things simply should not be.
Changed quite a bit since last I was here, well done whomever made it, it’s horrifying. I hope the reward is better this time.
Edit: I should stop typing stuff when I’m tired, typos and spelling mistakes, as far as the eye can see.
Can’t read the filename, actually. I think using a blur spoiler removes it?
Strange. It popped up fine the first time I posted it, but then I edited it because I posted it at 50% resolution and you couldn’t read anything. Kinda ruins the joke, but all the filename is is absolutelynothing.jpg
edit: to hell with spoiler tags
I also can’t click on it to enlarge it
Oh no.
Late autumn, I was making blankets for a mission. Made 47 so far … idly check mission requirements … I only needed 25. D’oh!
So, anybody out there need help keeping warm over the Winter?
You know, thinking about it, most PCs are probably bald and white.
Because I forget about the character appearance settings.
Nope.
Your character’s appearance is nebulous as far as the base game’s concerned if you don’t pick characteristic traits and can be anything your imagination puts it to be. It’s only some graphical packs that default to bald with light skin if there’s no traits picked.
I swear this wasn’t me.
