With her ring masking her presence and her mask allowing her to see all, Ashes found herself in the unexpected position of neutral bystander as she watched the giant insects battle the dead in the streets of this strange place. She couldn’t help but be amused at what strange fate had led her to such a situation.
TFW you spend ages looking for another translocator basement, TFW when you find one right in the middle of acid ant territory. TFW you have a ring that let you stay permanently invisible, TFW your normally killer ants are now your neighbourhood patrol that never spit acid at you and keep the zombie population hovering just above zero. TFW you have a mask that lets you watch it all.
I’ve had some decent artifacts before but I’ve got to admit, these definitely sit at the top of the list so far. It’s going to take some really broken stuff to displace them, that’s not gonna stop me from looking to see if I can find that something though
I added my first mod, Cata++ and wow - a whole bunch of new stuff! After skimming through the new scenarios & classes, I rolled & rerolled random chars until I got one of the new ones.
I landed on a Bio-Weapon Alpha character; Kiera “Hunger” Jefferies, who started with XS size. There were a handful of zombies is the lab and an NPC who helped me take them down. After securing the bldg she ate. And ate… then she ate some more.
Once she cleared out the kitchens of anything edible, she turned to the dead scientists but all those corpses were already rotten. The freshly killed zombies weren’t, however. It’s been two days of gorging herself on zombie fat and flesh and sorting out all the gear strewn about the place. With dulled senses, apparently she doesn’t need anesthetic to install cbm’s so her next task will be to butcher up the dead bio-weapons outside for any salvageable bionics. Until then, she’s gorging herself on tainted fat and meat… Might be miserable for doing so, but at least she’s keeping full and might recover from her starvation soon.
One has to wonder how he got through the horde in the hallways in the first place. Did he pass out drunk next to the vending machine and the zombies thought he was dead due to smelling like he did and only noticed he wasn’t once he woke up? And all the dead were people who died in the mall while he was passed out? The plot thickens.
If you had something to light a fire you could’ve taken off your socks and non-essential clothes, put them into a 3x1 line, and set them ablaze as a firetrap wall to kill the entire horde eventually as they came to you, even while they were clawing at you. Of course that would mean that the mall is destroyed unless you found a fire extinguisher pretty quickly.
Eris is lab technician, the only -living- survivor in this facility (not taking into account cyborg prototypes). She is proficient in short-range fights and also has very good understanding about computers and electronics.
After entire day of struggle, Eris got out from abandoned lab. She looked around and saw dead horde. Wielding rifle, she went on and appointed herself new goal - clear city from zombies.
.223 is awesome. I’ve used AR-15s to clear entire towns of zombie hordes. I tried that with an FN FAL and raiding downed apaches for 7.62 ammo. Doesn’t work as well…
My bio-weapon Alpha character has been prowling the edge of a larger town for a few days. She started out with XS size and was starving, but she’s been eating just about everything she’s killed, small game, a horse, zombies and 2 NPCs who wouldn’t follow her. She’s now back to normal weight and in prime fighting condition.
On the way to the town she’s scouting out right now, she came across a supply drop. The rifles and gear were pretty useless to her. She gave the weapons to the one NPC who has been with her since the start. The big find in the crates was a mini nuke though.
I’m not sure how to use it. Assuming like a grenade where you activate it then have a set amount of time to get away? How far is a safe distance to get away? The description says it could take down a house, but I sort of imagined a nuke (even a mini one) would be more powerful than that.
