What kind of music do you listen to

I normally listen to Johnny Cashes “When the Man Comes Around” (or similar dark country songs) when wandering through towns or driving down a long stretch of road. Then I change to a more frantic techno song during combat or in a lab. Seeing how there is no soundtrack to this game (as of yet), what kind of music (or ambient noise if you don’t care for music) do you listen to while you play.

http://lapfox.bandcamp.com/album/robot-brainstronaut-blastoff Pretty much this always or http://lapfox.bandcamp.com/album/its-murder this.

Now that I think about it numero dos is a more “Relevant to the game” choice. By way of title at least. And lyrics.

Actually, that album is honestly pretty good for an apocalypse. Covers some good stuff. Killing other people (It’s Murder), thriving and being “happy” for what happy is worth in an apocalypse (Laugh at Life). (Rescue) is kinda fitting for wanting to be back in the old times before everything went to shit. Kinda. It’s pretty hit and miss matching these songs to an apocalypse.

Thanks for the links I’ll have to give these a listen.

Usually enya or some nice relaxing sounds of the rainforest…

ok, for real, usually any type of hardcore electronic music. D&B, breakcore, hardcore, industrial. that kind of stuff. I like it really digital and aggressive.

Mostly ambient industrial, EBM, industrial dance, darkwave, grindcore, death metal, black metal, and lots and lots of martial industrial.

But that’s not just while playing Cataclysm. That’s the soundtrack to my life.

The same music I play when I do anything. That is to say, EPIC MUSIC COMPILATIONS!

http://inhale.bandcamp.com/ < - I listen to these good folks.

Inhale has an awesome collecting of Dark Ambient music that fits with Cataclysm’s theme almost to a T. The “Format C:” album is my favorite in particular.

However. When I feel like storming a science lab or a mine, I get me some good old Doom music to listen to!

I’d leave out the black metal - if there was some on me, but would push some Skrewdriwer or even Fear Factory if I’d know how to code multimedia apps.

I don’t always listen to music when playing Cata, but when I do, I have a WinAmp mix. To the best of my recollection:

There are some ambient tracks (Clannad, HoMM3, MGS1) for my base, some exploratory tracks for exploring (MGS1, VtM:Bloodlines, C&C:RA2), some combat tracks for fighting (MGS1, Bloodines, UT2k4) and some Ominous tracks to use as needed (Precursors, UT2k4).

Stay amused, my fellow Cata-players.

I love Renard and all his pseudonyms.

I am particular to Igorrr while playing though…

You should check out the album “Passover” by the Black Angels, then. I started listening to it the other day… very good.

Sounds like REM combined with Cake combined with The Pixies.
I love it.
You have great taste in music.

This is my playlist for Western-y things including but not limited to lonely space games or wandering the apocalypse.

Don’t judge me

Any kind of metal really.

nigga dis ma jam

The Doors, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin. 3 different bands with 3 different styles. I usually pick a song that’s the most fitting for the current situation: driving (Riders on the storm), bashing and gunning down zeds (Breed), just relaxing (Stairway to Heaven).

I once had a character who burned everything he saw, he was also always high (can’t blame him for liking weed).
His theme music would be this:

This music is also in Far Cry 3 in the mission where you burn the weed farm.
So, weed + fire = Marley’s legacy.
