Once I’ve grinded up my mechanic/driving skills, I’m going to make a Technodrome. Fuck roads. Fuck houses. Fuck nether. Fuck everything. The Technodrome will be the true cause of the Cataclysm.
It’s worth mentioning CDDA is a smidge wonky when it comes to vehicles, as in I’ve regularly seen a 30 ton vehicle loose a collision with a mother fucking bicycle. Also buildings hurt a surprising amount too. In the event you need to ram something larger than a child zombie; slow down to around 30 MPH if you can, if not, get ready to spin-out.
I think my previous vehicle was pretty amazing.
It was an electric car that was completely covered in solar panels and stripped of any extra weight, fully repaired and left outside in the sun for 2 days.
It would only manage to move about one short roads length before dying.
I therefore renamed it the ‘G-Wiz’. Named after one of the greatest cars ever made.
There should be a picture here but i have no knowledge at all…

Beep beep! I’m a motorist!
I’m laughing at the image: Some guy in a giant hunk of steel and engines honking a little bicycle horn yelling “WOO YEAH I AM DRIVING LOOK AT ME”
Can you even drive that thing through a town xD
I can imagine that’s why he has his little looting vehicle. Driving such a long vehicle is a pain, expecially making turns.
Surprisingly it’s not so hard to bump through a town at low speed, but yes Ol’ Foldy is my go to when it comes to quick get-in-get-out scavenging.
Currently contemplating navigation via cameras instead of LOS…
You beat Flame at vehicle building. you beat him.
now destroy Flame at it and make the Splitsville foldable.
Did a bit of research. This vehicle is capable of going about 1.5x the speed of sound(speed of sound=718mph)
I don’t know why you consider me the pinnacle of vehicle building. The RMCC is bigger than the Solar Roller VI, as are many other vehicles. The only claim to fame I have is that the Solar Roller is purely electric, and that I have 18 quantum solars.
It’s a show and tell, not SHOW-UP and TELL THEM THEY SUCK!
Flame is awesome, and so is the solar roller…
I should be ashamed of myself
It is mosquito. It simply needs a spike on the front. Then it will be complete.
(Quite frankly I find giant vehicles to be very, very silly. If I ever survive to the point where relocating an entire base becomes an issue, I will clear-cut a forest to make a straight line to my new home first lol.)
because dearth Pthalocy, it’s not just about surviving. It’s about thriving It’s about amassing such a huge horde of food, guns, books, and drugs that you can live out the end of days in style, in a heated room, with a functional stereo system. It’s about tripping balls in the safety of your rolling steel box. It’s about killing a zombie with an axe in the dead of winter, removing it’s head and in doing so breaking the handle of the axe. Having replaced the handle you later find yourself breaking the head and fogring a new one to replace it, only to have the zombie come back on you and inform you that the axe you’re holding is the axe you slew him with.
Only to realize I just referenced a movie/book and have it sitting around. Rather than just sitting there eating cooked meat and struggling to make fire, you can sit in a nice warm vehicle, making pizza from humans, getting high as shit, and really understanding the movie.
Don’t be, you clued me in that I can use a handle instead of a frame on my deep lab vehicle.

nuuuuuu
I installed a spike on the front like you said, but that made the casters insufficient as wheels so it wouldn’t move ;.;

I’m glad that someone could learn from my mistakes.
PS: I legit don’t know that adding a light source to your lab cart is worth all the extra weight it means you’re dragging–not just the light itself, but also the battery. It’s a clever idea, but a wearable flashlight might still be better. Just, uh, whatever light source you decide on, be damn careful to turn it off before opening doors.
I just really dislike spending batteries, even when I’m late game and able to craft them and have tens of thousands of charges I add rechargeable mods to my tools and stuff. The weight is not much of a problem since I only pick the thing up to take it up / down stairs. With the volume of 200, I never load it up to the point I can’t drag it any more, even with paltry strength of 8.
No worries about doors, 9mm zings off my armor
Spikes requiring wheels? Preposterous!! Oh well. My bad
I tried adding wheels to the spike, but the game wouldn’t let me. Also, it prevents folding. My best guess is that if I didn’t care about folding it and were willing to expand the bike to two tiles of length with proper wheels, that I might be able to mount a spike on a third tile without making the thing fall over. But at that point the bike is a lot bigger and not so much a mosquito anymore. ;.;

Don’t mind me, then. Do you keep extra motorbike batteries on your main vehicle in case the one on the Dragster runs down? Just curious.

I haven’t had to, to be honest. Perhaps if I had it on all the time I would, but I already know lab layouts and often turn the flodlight off while looting a particular section (maptile) inside the lab. The battery lasts a very long time and also charges very quickly using jumper cables connected to my main rig, which has 4 storage batteries and 18 solar panels on it.
