Leaving out the nitty-gritty bits of having to deal with lugging four tons of crap from a lab to my Hardware store, fighting off a spider house to reduce lag, and desperately missing those vines when I was a lizard again, but hey. Lizard is best.[/quote]

Sadly, I haven’t touched a car save for some generator making and messing around with a stationary turret. I like walking…
It’s like a garage, but with no windows and a bed. It comes pre-fortified. Get metabolic interchange and integrated toolset at least. And get marloss berries and carrier so you can get infinite food and maybe later become ONE OF US.

…Or lizard mutagen and become one of us… Mushrooms taste weird.

Well those are berrys actually. Mushrooms are tasty in my book.So uh yeah get some mutagen goin and burn and or eat the shooms.
I find “Under the Hood” (the mechanics 1-3 skill book) to be fairly common, so finding that is always a priority. I’m usually raiding garages at that point too, as I find acetylene torches to be very helpful in getting up and running. I make a little hauling frame (L’il Hauly) to assist in gathering parts. Breaking down cats with a hacksaw or torch tends to skill up mechanics rather fast, and I prefer to repair components before I remove them to. From there, if I haven’t been lucky enough to find a vehicle welding rig in a garage, I try to get one of those.
Typically though, I find the most useful starting vehicles to be a little hauling frame (just a frame and trunk), a static base crafting area (solar panels + rigs), and then later a small motorcycle for short raiding trips. I don’t make a bigger vehicle till much later, as the earlier ones give me enough.
Nuh-uh girlfriend, don’t you diss me. Before Mycus was a thing, I had 20 gallons of mutagen stored up plus about 3-4 gallons of serums. The original Marloss Man drank more mutagen than a bingeing Chimera every day. Plus, Marloss Man Reborn was an insect-bird-lizard before he was a Mycus.
Being near a hardware store can be pretty useful too. The steel compactor is very helpful for stuffing an entire car into so you can turn it into lumps for heavy duty frames.
a ups cbm and ups conversion kit work like integrated toolset too is even better than other cbms imagine that cranal flashlight give less light than normal and use this same or more power while flashlight with ups cbm run on this same power source and is better
Introducing the Surprise, Motherfucker, a little RV I built from scratch and a lot of looking at a wrecked one near my old base, and my first car entirely. It can go over the speed of sound thanks to the massive V8 I ripped out of a cop car. I don’t think that should be a thing, but it’s pretty radical. It feels like it should be heavier too, since unloaded it only weighs a little over two tons. Also been slowly installing solar, found an electrical engine too, which isn’t even on right now. Got all the little vehicle stations you can build.
When I find a new place to settle in, I’ll probably rip it apart and remake it! Already learned better ways to do things.
Oh, uh, three storage batteries+truck battery, two gas tanks, one water tank.

Design wise it boasts a bummer made from heavy frame and spike for wall taping.
I was focused on agility so the front wheels are far back past the cockpit at the corners and the rears are one unit forward from the back.
All in all this does make the front swing about more than normal but it a great help in close spaces.
It has a lot of storage, i like to keep my tools on the back door along with a range of weapons.
I’m a wee bit of hoarder with it comes to fuel and the like so it has 5 gas, 2 water and 2 diesel tanks and there still space for another five.
Power is mostly for the inside flood light, power is stored in 2 storage battery with 3 solar panels for charging duty.
