Wow…

My design is puny compared to your guyses I usually just take an armoured truck and maybe customize it.

One thing I really like tho and recently made is this

Armoured Motorcyle

H :steel plating and head light
H :steel plating, car battery, turret (M249), wheel (28" wide)
S :seat, fuel tank, engine, seatbelt and another wheel (28" wide)

Armoured motorcycle?
Once I’ve built an armoured unicycle with mounted flamethrower! It was fun… Until hulk.

My main vehicle is a simple motorcycle. Smallish engine, muffler and several gasoline tanks for a relatively quiet, long range mission vehicle. One Box for utility supplies (meat, water, spare fuel, warm clothes for cold labs, explosives etc) and a Cargo Carrier for loot. Since it’s only 1 tile wide I can maneuver it through most anything without any collisions.

I want to build a Treeslayer out of a semi truck with a massive armoured ram in front. Its sole purpose will be to smash new roads through forests, which will then be travelled on the bike.
(Just how big do I need to be to crunch full-grown trees without severe damage or slowing down?)

I also intend to steal an idea from someone else on this forum and mount a storage battery and a NX-17 on a shopping trolley to make a gun-cart.

That reminds me, I finally tried building the Sol Invictus. I settled on 17X15, but I only got about 75% done building it before taking it for a short test drive. 30+ Large Electric Motors meant instant deafness. So that project is abandoned.

I guess some players prefer to roleplay sometimes. Small vehicles won’t destroy buildings just trying to turn around.
Also, one-shooting giant zombies and demons using auto-shotgun with explosive slugs and bolts while driving a unicycle/motorbike of doom sounds awesome.

Now that crafting-from-containers is in I’m probably going to move my whole base into this thing.

Crafting from containers is in!?

What version do I need to use to get this working? (And will it work with the tilesets? Apparently Raga’s tileset doesn’t like some experimentals).

I’m running the latest experimental and noticed that I could craft using the items in my trunks. Not sure precisely when it got included but I think recently.

Raga’s will sort-of-work. There will be a lot of #s. (Same with every other tileset I’ve tried).

I’m still not sure how vehicle turrets/guns work. Can you manually shoot one rather than turning all of them on and spamming bullets everywhere?

And how do you practically block off their LOS to limit where they shoot, without stopping yourself having good visibility?

No, but that’d be nice to have.

You can’t, but what I find helps is to treat it like it’s frame-mounted rather than what it actually is (roof mounted) on the MFB I have the turrets mounted on the corners, something like this:

as well as in the center

--- H|t ---

and I find that keeps them from shooting the MFB it’s self.
