I went digging into the json and found that coal is already listed as a charcoal ammunition type. I will play around with the other charcoal using devices and check back later to see if its specific to the forge.
The charcoal smoker, forge and cooker work as intended and use both charcoal and coal but the furniture variants do not accept coal as a fuel. I would guess it has something to do with the “crafting_pseudo_item” line. It looks like everything should be working.
How do I make a vehicle freezer? I see the option in the construction menu, but the ‘vehicle refrigerator’ component is always red in the list. I’ve tried it with the fridge installed in my vehicle, uninstalled and dropped at my feet, etc. Nothing seems to work.
A fridge and a freezer are different items.
Short of crafting one yourself, your best hope is one of those icecream trucks: they have at least one freezer on them.
Theres a construction menu option to turn a vehicle fridge into a vehicle freezer. I’m trying to get it to work. I have all the other components but it won’t recognise the fridge.
(I converted a house fridge into a vehicle fridge this way no worries)
I was doing the third Hub mission to find a thing underneath a collapsed tower. I found the thing, but now I can’t find my way out. There’s a sewer line just south of me, but it looks like my only thing that can breach solid rock is the dynamite bomb and it won’t take me far enough. Is this character doomed?
Edit: Built a stepladder out of smashed desks and found the spot where I entered so I could climb out.
I use Aftershock, and to make the vehicle fridge into the vehicle freezer, you have to do it before taking the fridge down, after converting it from the house fridge.
Locksmith kit is a ridiculously rare item. I can count the total number i have ever seen on one hand. I also stopped caring about finding them when the few i did get broke after about 4 doors. No idea if that silliness has changed since i last tried one.
P.S. - just tried one in my test world…it was completely destroyed on the 3rd door i attempted to unlock.
I just came across a Triffid Grove for the first time in awhile, and I tried to make my way down; but it says there’s a creeper vine in the way. Show do I enter?
I’ve tried lighting it on fire, using a machete to “butcher” and smash it, do I have to dig my own way down?
Try just standing on the tile and pressing TAB, and see if you are able to attack the creeper vine that is downstairs. It works for me on downstairs to basements, and on slopes down to caves. I’ve never visited a Triffid Grove, so I’m not sure what the level change terrain is there, but I’d guess it would work the same.
The funny part is the description of the locksmith kit specifically calls it ‘durable’. It really should not have the same breakage %'s of improvised lockpicks. I smell an easy PR opportunity for some enterprising new contributor.
It quite a bit more durable, going through three doors before the kit breaks beats going though ten makeshift lockpicks to open a single door with no skill.
I recommend repairing the kit when it starts to take damage.
