Finally. Thanks for that.
What is up with bows at the moment? The maximum range is four tiles or so even with decent skill.
I have a follower with “Self-defense classes” perk. How do I find out which technique she is specialized in? Or it doesn’t work for NPCs so the answer is “none”?
NPCs can’t use martial arts at all.
Does someone know how the game decides in which color to paint vehicle parts in vehicle editor window? See here:
On the horizontal axis, two “#” tiles to the left and right of “C” have different colors. The thing is, they both have exact same layout, exact same damage to them (zero) and exact same container contents (none):
So why are they different colors?
Is it storage space of some sort being used?
No. The second picture is how both of them look in vehicle designer. Absolutely the same. 0 stored capacity, full tank. They even both contain diesel, not different fuels.
There is one place on a map where I keep hearing zombies fighting something and dying under the ground. The closest thing to this place is a spider web in the forest, the closest structure is a military helipad about 7 map tiles away and no obvious stairs going down. Fungal tower about 15 tiles away and 10 tiles away a mass grave. What could it be? Maybe a mapgen bug?
You have likely found an underground microlab. They are connected to the subway but the nearest entrance can be very far away.
Or it can be a lab with access hatch in a forest. Try pressing “A” in overmap mode and look for forest tile with different color nearby.
Ohhh, never seen this before! Will investigate
Is there anything I can put on a vehicle to serve as a butchering rack? Instead of needing a rope/tree.
So, returning player here. Trying to play a stationary base game instead of nomad this time around. I’ve built a rock forge and mined some coal. Is it silly to think that the rock forge should also accept coal rather than just charcoal?
I think it’s an issue with the coal being so hard to get without mods. You might be able to turn the coal into charcoal by loading it into a kiln. I’ve never tried so take that with a grain of salt.
Otherwise make sure that the forge doesn’t have charcoal already in it. The game doesn’t really accept two different types of “ammo” in one container. So if you already have charcoal in the forge you need to unload that in order to load it with coal.
Coal seems to have been implemented only as an input to chemical processes, not as a fuel. Sounds like a good chance for someone to make their first contribution by adding it as an alternate fuel for various tools, or maybe as an input into the charcoal kiln. Those would just require modifying recipes in .json files. There is a doc (which I’m sure someone can post a link to) that gives instructions for first-time contributors for making this kind of changes.
If you want infinite super easy free stuff right from the get go (without using debug), spawn, commit suicide, spawn, commit suicide, spawn, commit suicide, and so on.
Then simply loot your corpses and you can have infinite stuff from any profession!
If you do a proper butchering of any bionic characters, you can also have a chance to get their CBMs I believe. I think the stuff around that has been changed a bit though, so I’m not 100% sure about that last part.
Cheese over 9000
EDIT: Also, unless this was changed at some point, you can OD on aspirin.
That just sounds like debugging with extra steps.
Using the debug menu is cheating. Using this method is exploiting. Very different.
Whatever helps you sleep at night…
