Get ready for this one is a long one!
With high enough dodging skill, you won't need to worry much about getting hit by hulk fists. I'm level 10 in the skill right now and the game keeps saying that I can't earn any more xp by dodging hulk mega-punches
Of course my level 10 skill is diminished from the stuff I'm wearing, but I'm still pretty good!
In terms of dangerous situations, (I think I posted one before), I don't really run into 'dangerous' situations much lately. Once you get to the point where there is like a 10% chance (if even that) of actually getting hit in melee, armor that stops (seemingly) every hit, you stay inside towns instead of risking turrets and other crazy stuff elsewhere, acid zombies are off, you have potential meat-shield friends, it isn't usually too bad.
Honestly, the reason I don't go into other places other than my town isn't because I'm a wimp, it's just that my town is HUGE! And getting to anywhere else will take annoyingly long, plus my computer can't handle speed moving in a direction. Even if it could my followers are usually slower than me.
I suppose there is also the fact that I also basicly do less damage with a freaking sword that with my fists. I'm literally a bionic mutant that punches things to death simply for fun. Shocker hulk? *punches five or four times* New bionics? Yay!
I have Muay Thai with 27 strength. melee damage without Mauy thai is 20.3, but that fighting type makes it so the higher the strength, the more the damage! And i have nail nuckles which add more damage than fists but allow Muay Thai. So I can deal like 30 damage and usually one shot dog types, among other things. I actually bumped up the resillience on monsters by like 20% also.
It might not be the 'most' dangerous situation, but picking a fight with me would be a very bad idea... Well, bullets are potentially dangerous, but I have pretty good armor and 162 base health. now that I think about it, I'm kinda tempted to get shot simply to see how much 'damage' it does!
here is my story,
I am in going into a fairly sized town which had about 3 shocker brutes in the middle of the night. I finish looting a military store and got a wheel barrel with all my newly acquired loot. when I go outside I encounter a z-9 and a grabber. the grabber holds me while his z-9 friend is on top of me. thanks to my handgun I take them both out with only minor injury’s. I thought I was good but out of the blue, a wild zombie brute appears! cue pokemon fight music I barely had any bullets so I decided to haul ass and get away with the wounds I already had. but I heard footsteps all over the going to be over any second. But then… there she was, a NPC from out of the blue. I thought all that was going to happen was that she would get swarmed while I get away. but when as I was about too pass she wacked me with her wrench, and pulled my gun from my hands. Woman was mugging me while zombies were about to slaughter us. so I ran north while she was chasing me. somehow the zombies don’t follow but she then turns the other direction and runs off into the night. don’t worry, while in the military place I found a scythe. long story short I lived, killed the NPC, and got my gun back.

As easily I can make a rude comment, i’d rather just explain that my character was brand new (Literally day 1) on the “sheltered survivor” start. They spawn with a m1 garand or some similar rifle.
I’ve been playing the game since mid 0.A, which is roughly around 3-4 years ago. I have a decent amount of experience playing this game, (I have a newbie guide to prove it) and i’ve gotten to the end-game so many times i’ve lost count.
Sorry for sounding rude anyway, but i’m pretty happy that you’re proud of your character.
PK’s Rebalancing ants multiply like mad. One time I decided to go down into an ant nest. They surrounded me. Fire-breathing ants jacked my pain so high I couldn’t move. I had Repair Nanobots turned on, and I’m fireproof, so I couldn’t die from the fire. I burned through all 300,000 bionic power before I died.
Needless to say, I savescummed. That is some bullshit.

My one of my characters had that one bonic which prevented fire damage, forgot what it was called. Anyway, found a young ant queen on the side of a road, did know what it was so I tried to kill it. Needless to say I caught on fire and activated my bionic. Thought I was in the clear until it burned all my super rare Japanese clothing (role playing as a samurai, don’t judge.) to nothing. I wasn’t very happy when it did this.
I remember that I was just finishing up mashing some dead children in the school I just smashed my car through, completely wasted and hallucinating all sorts of crazy things when a gang of armed bandits just burst through the front doors and started shooting EVERYTHING. All I had on me was a machete and was wearing an undershirt with some jeans while these guys were packing automatic rifles and shotguns, with body armor! The only thing that saved me was the fact that my car was in between them and me, though the car didn’t make it. Had to drag a broken arm and leg through what must have been at least 15 miles of thick wilderness to get back to my hideout.
Oh wait, we’re talking about THE GAME!?
Well, I didn’t run away as fast as I hoped from an RDX charge. All my limbs ended up in the red and my torso was at : from the explosion, and it didn’t even kill the whole fungal tower I was targeting! Cataclysm can be so unrealistic at times.
Spectacular!

That’s probably what’s going through that character’s mind.

At which point did you decide to run away.
First game I ever played I chose to start with the lab escape challenge.
It spawned me in that sealed water room.
I was confused and thought lab escape was too smart for me.
Second game I ever played I did a sheltered survivor, and quickly fell into a sinkhole, rock in all directions.
Third game I ever played I did lab escape again, and spawned next to a turret. Was excited not to be in the sealed room.
Any time a npc brings a machinegun to a fistfight.

Aren’t dead trees dead? }:S
