The General I did This Creative Thing Thread (TGIdTCTT)

I like the eyes and their brightness, although that might just be because I’m a big fan of loud colour and stylization. Like the clothes too, neck scarf thing is cool, big fan of long coat styles, less a fan of asymmetry. Is that a breastplate on her?

I’m working on a little animation, and figured hey, why not, I’ll post it here. In a spoiler, 'cuz I don’t know how the tags to scale stuff down on here.

[quote=“John Candlebury, post:156, topic:4055”]Thanks for the encouragement, I will surely share the finished thing once its done.

What about trying to draw actual eyes for a change?

[spoiler]

A knight of the White Sun again. I have decided to change the clothes to something more desert like, because you know I like deserts. And scarf belts or however you call them.[/spoiler][/quote]

That would be a sash she’s got on her waist. Looks like she’s definitely Boggled at something, getting into Anime!Female! eyes, but yeah, posture’s good and the overall expression and dimensions work well.

(In my limited experience, manga/anime tends to give women and children much larger eyes than men. Similar effect in Doonesbury, but there it’s pretty clearly limited to children and Boopsie/Barbara Ann Boopstein.)

Thanks for telling me that the actual name is sash, I have always wondered how those things were called.

EDIT: Yeah she does have a breastplate on her.

Dunno on eye color contrast, I kinda wanted the color to jump out like that, but I can see how it can clash with the rest of the piece. Thanks to everyone who gave feedback too, I find it immensely helpful.

I think that your eyes work pretty well, but might be better if they were roughly 3/4 of their current size. I’m definitely for having large eyes in your art style, though, as it allows it to be much more expressive.

And, because I don’t want to doublepost, have a picture I made today! Took me about, umm… 5 hours. Damn, I’m slow.

Not bad, Ninerings.

That is a nice handgun you drew there, NineRings!

Hand Gun is best handgun?

Also drew some person when I was supposed to be onion skinning in Flash. Didn’t get the onion skinning done…

The text says Red Jane. Transparency, ho?

Scarf belts. Scarf belts… I love it! Scarf belts!

Scarf belts. Scarf belts… I love it! Scarf belts![/quote]

Who wouldnt love a scarf belt! Its the best kind of belt, I mean, just think of the versatility!

Here are some things that I have been drawing in the past 5 days that don’t completely suck!

From left to right:
-Evil masked guy No.1. I mean, purple and masks are supposed to be evil, right?
-A knight of the White Sun now dressed for battle. They wear darker robes when on war because symbolism.
-Fanart of Julien from Dream Chaser.

“Death to Smoochy!”, say the demons.
The universe ponders.

Loving your art style, John.

It’s shit. MS paint tier shit.

I draw too many 'sonas for myself online, many of them are used for various settings (MothChaz was originally just because I really liked moths, but then I got into Cataclysm and a mutant mothman sounded like a fun idea).

Here’s a couple, and a bonus little doodle!

The Serir are kind of armadillo-squirrel people, who I first made for an RP setting, but then decided to adapt to a story universe I’m still in the process of cobbling together. I’m also using SerirChaz as my persona for playing Elite: Dangerous. In that setting, he’s a cargo trader using a repurposed military grade ship (The Cobra Mk III, heck yeah) to trade and occasionally smuggle for profit. He has some pretty nasty anxiety issues, which he takes high-strength and probably illegal meds to combat. (The KF on that spray bottle stands for “Kenfitamine”, which is a really silly in-joke specific to my corner of Scotland so I will be surprised if anyone gets it)

The Gansir are bunny-mole-lizard people who have restored their failing vision with the use of cybernetic goggles. They’re very good friends with the Serir, even though there’s a little bit of conflict being stirred up by a third party, the Estenir (Annoying space elves who have taken over the Gansir and Serir’s home regions, I need to properly draw them still). They’re fond of hacking and are very very into old chunky 80s-style tech. I use Gansir Chaz sometimes as a 'sona for Minecraft modpack stuff, or otherwise any games where manipulating technology is a large part of the game. I also got approval to play as him in a Star Wars themed RP a friend of a friend is running, so hey. \o/

This was just a doofy cute doodle I did for another friend’s RP. I’m the little bunny wizardy thing on the right, another friend who plays the RP plays as the dog on the left (They’re actually an automaton made to look like a dog), and the orc lady is an NPC who my bunny wizard developed a small crush on after she saved his fuzzy butt more than a couple of times.

I now know how to create and reproduce anime sounds from gunshot noises.

Also, MGS-style menu fx stuff for some reason.

Here’s a doodle I did up for someone.

Woah, awesome! Reminds me of anatomy studies.

That is pretty great

Random images ahead. They make sense to me, but oh well. I actually encourage you to ask!

Also: BIG

Nice  A note though, if you specify a width= and height= in the image tag it’ll resize it for you.
