um… no. bull. survival building you have to survive long enough to get all the pieces parts, and if you either don’t know until latter, and/or you just wasted that piece you spent so much time getting. Survival building is much harder because it requires all the challenges of GIVING yourself any parts you need with the additional problems of getting the parts, and being restrained by what you find. MUCH HARDER.
Tedium is only difficulty in the way that you can get bored and quit.
With no risk of death, you can just go through the (infinitely generated) world, collecting parts on your way.
If you know what you’re doing, the only two things that can kill you are tankbots and sinkholes (those traps that spawn in swamps). If you know how to avoid those, you can’t die.
And if you don’t know what you’re doing, you won’t build a fast enough vehicle anyway.
Only once your character is good enough. And risk of getting bored and doing something stupid enough to get you killed before quitting is part of the risks. You can’t just discredit that because getting cocky, and getting bored are two of the main threats.
Got to this while using the debug to give me items
1919 MPH is roughly 3088 KPH
Used 12 15.00L V12, and 14 15.75L V12
Feh. Anyone can use the debug menu to make a dragster.
But using the debug menu, as it will itself tell you, is CHEATING!
KA101 awards RADIALTHRONE1 an Asterisk* to go with that record
I was just posting that as confirmation that 3k+ KPH was possible. Easily achievable, not so much.
Only 3K? i got mine up to four and a half before the fuel tanks ran out.
Im rebuilding it to use 15 V12 Engines and have an enclosed cockpit to give it some crash safety and deal with the wind chill.

That is a super awesome design. Imma use it once I get to that point in my current character…
wait
15 V12 ENGINES?

Amazing!
This almost makes me want to debug V12’s and find the real max speed we can go.
Otoh it also makes me want to research and add better wind drag and wheel friction for vehicles + needed wheel quantity & quality depending on vehicle weight.
Btw 4500kph means around the world (at the equator) in under 9hrs!
Decided to join you. Also discovered random bug while playing with cars.
Here I go:
we need desert map back for pepole who do things like that
salt flats ^.^ Dragsters dream map
So it logically concludes to necessity of adding some jet drives for cars like these.
I still think being able to make drag parachutes. from parachutes (and/or sheets), rope, plastic, a scrap metal + backpack. Cuz you need to pack the chute.
and then you say “but parachutes are not in yet”, Think, multi z levels incoming sometime.
Being able to jump off a roof and land at a random spot below via a parachute would be awesome. Especially if said chute was damaged and you reached terminal velocity jumping off the 20 story hotel.
So you make parachutes, and then allow the application of them to said vehicles to slow them down. Useful for emergencies and fun stuff.
Also opens up more recipes like turning them into tents
I need to get over to the suggestion area.
The planes don’t work anymore but surely all those prop and jet engines could be put to good use… Very rare and commercial airports only appear near VERY high population areas. But even the small ones cary nice lot of tools and equipment in the hanger and the planes. Luggage can always be sifted through and I am sure there are other uses for abandoned airports as well. Its too bad that as an overrun evacuation point they are all swarming with zombies, especially zombie soldiers in place to keep order. and those fences keep them from just wandering out any time soon without some incentive. If it still needs more danger to balance risk/reward then good news! FAA switched to organic computing to cut down on time delays and increase efficiency. The now very effective Blob computing thinks it should organize the zombies into kill squads and organizes their movement (zombies in this area try to actively surround you and curt of avenues of escape instead of just chasing you in a line, in addition to shared perception) The controlling blobs main objective is to keep itself from being killed, so the zombies will EVENTUALLY stop chasing you if you get far enough away…probably. Killing the computer will make all the zombies resort back to normal, and stop it from remotely opening/closing all those doors and gates >.<. Who’s brilliant idea was it to wire in the security system with everything else? Oh Great… it also has control of the remaining turret(s) Great!
Obviously I went a little overboard with the blob computer, but I figure better too much and some can easily be lopped off the idea than the other way around.
Oh and of coarse trustworthy parachutes can be found in airports as well.
Have your engines gone Bang?
I’ve rebuilt my speed run car, fuel is starting to be a problem it’s drinking over half a liter every tick at idle.

TURN INTO A JET, FLY INTO THE SUN, NOW I’M DEAD!
LIKE A BOSS.
I wonder what the longest distance one can be thrown from a vehicle can be?
New DDA Sport: Person Chucking!
I like it better than pumpkin chunking already
