There’s really not a ton of value in keepign CBMs in labs, it’s something we already wanted to remove, and it would require redesigning the exodii to have it make any kind of sense. We don’t want labs to be the one stop shop for all end game content as it stands. Instead, we’re going to move the “creepy place you explore and get cybernetics” to a new different type of dungeon.
As far as I understand, old Labs are “hardcoded” into the game, they are randomly generated - thats where all those boring sqare rooms come from. Will they be removed completely from the game in the form they exist now and replaced with non random generated layouts?
As far as their contents - cbms are removed, but what about mutagens? Weapons and other equipment? Will it still be your place to go if you want to grow some tentacles and find journals?
Gun Shops recently “suffered” some changes which makes them more viable as a place to get guns and ammo from. Alternatively, roadblocks, helipads, Bunkers, Military Base and body sites (until they’re removed) as well as crashed helicopters are places where you can find guns and ammo on occasion.
Mutagens & Mutagenic related stuff, you still have the research facilities, the underground labs (the ones that spawn with no overworld entrance that you can only access via the subway, and occasionally through Ventilation Shafts in Forests).
There’s also the Trans-Coast Logistics for Mutagen related stuff and in one or two places within it, weaponry.
