Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

Options for world creating choosing certain buildings to exist in the starting area, to avoid boring world reset until a world have what’s needed to play a scenario properly. Cases in question: Challenge - Labs without labs, Security Malls without malls and so on.

Or an option for choosing a scenario first and creating the world where that scenario will be immediately after the character’s creation.

Obviously slow to traverse, and if you are attacked while traversing, there is a chance that you get dragged back…

can i boss it with a grapling hook?

Boss what?

Still gotta climb so it’s not all that boss.

Underground vehicles like mine carts, subway repair trucks, and lab equipment transport carts.

Also, I don’t think we’ve added stretchers and wheel-mounted terminals in hospitals or terminals in the libraries.

The ability to spend some time intently listening in an attempt to detect and identify unseen threats.
Not only would it add a new dimension to early game night-time looting runs, it would help a cautious player avoid going around a corner right into the waiting arms of a hulk or a shocker brute. Also the traits bad and good hearing would become more important.

From another thread:

I think you should be able to hit X and peek down like you do around corners, seems realistic.

No it shall have a v12 motor that pulls me up .

I’d like to be able to bury corpses as an alternative to smashing or butchering. If shooting a slavering zombie-child in the face makes me sad, shouldn’t butchering them like a side of pork be even worse? Even just for RP reasons, I’d like to be able to bury bodies to get rid of them. It would also be a good way to get rid of junk: give it to a corpse, bury the corpse. If you want to be cute, you can even allow the crafting of a crude marker for the grave with a couple of sticks/2x4s and some string/rope/duct tape/wire and get some morale.

we can t burry corpses?

well i never tried.

i shall do it now

edit: i tried and we realy can not :frowning:

Boat mod isn’t mainlined/defaulted (why’s that anyway?), but folding kayaks would be awesome. I didn’t know they existed, but they do and they fold pretty small. I can’t speak for quality or recommendations, but here’s one example I looked at.

A cabbie profession that starts with a trait that gives it knowledge of the layout of the closest town, along with driving skill and a bit of speech and barter.

In crafting menu, show how many of the needed items we have. Also when the game asks you which of the possible items you want to use, show the amount, too.

You know what I mean.

Web walker trait should make hanging out in webs cozy

How about a simple change to finding ammo. Currently the ammo is just lying around in single shots so why not make a little change where if you find ammo its in a ammo box with bullets inside and if you unload this box you get the ammo but at a higher volume. However if you were to find ammo on lets say a dead body it might not be the usual 50 9mm bullets but maybe just 3 or 4 shots just like with the random lighter charges. Picking up stray ammo that isn’t in a box should also take a bit longer as if you were picking up bullets one by one. Also makes it fun to go into a gun store and see stray bullets and empty boxes scattered about and maybe a rack of precious ammo boxes hidden away in the back.

Water short-circuiting shockers, and water baloons to throw in unsuspecting enemies and ending fires.

Folding wheelbarrow, electric-scooter, and small-gun-turret-that-is-designed-to-be-carried-by-a-vehicle-and-then-a-four-man-team-and-makes-your-survivor-cry.

Probably some folding solar FoodCo stuff that never has quite enough power, to replicate the dodgy camping appliances that inevitably turn up.

Croutons and breadcrumbs, stuff you can turn your old bread into before it goes mouldy. Croutons would become a salad ingredient.
Plus:
French onion soup = water + onion + cheese + croutons
Meat loaf = meat + breadcrumbs + ketchup/canned tomatoes/tomato
Chicken-fried steak = meat + bird egg + breadcrumbs/corn cereal/cracker + lard/vegetable oil
