The Fast/Slow Zombies mod is nice and all but it’s sorta limited. So…
Speed scaling on world creation. Wildlife, zombies, horrors… the works. One setting for each. Pretty simple, no?

Manned Turrets, Under the construction menu the player can make a turret, and with (G)grab it to dish out some apocalyptic justice.
I think it would work best if any gun (besides pistols) could be made into a turret.

Turreted weapons would have recoil massively reduced, and if modded with a Belt Feed they do not require reloading (firing from ammo stored in the turret until it is exhausted).
Mounted weapons should be made so they maintain any mods equipped to them.
The ability to build automated turrets suggest a certain talent with automation combined with a familiarity with recent technologies. Given the development of some automated driving systems, it seems plausible that someone capable of building an automated turret could build a truck capable of following a road and avoiding obstacles while a lunatic is dancing in the back next to a large mounted weapon and occasionally picking an unfortunate building and shooting it until it collapses…
That gives me an idea of a better way to handle building auto turrets, they would require a gun, high mechanics/electronics skill and a military automatic weapons chip (or something like that). These could be salvaged from hostile turrets and the ones found in bunkers if they were to be dissembled.

I haven’t fooled around with it yet, but can’t you basically do this by mounting the existing vehicle heavy weapons on a shopping trolley?
You can already make those. You just need to use the small components instead.
They are not very useful however.
Vending machines should refrigerate the contents. Not a big deal one way or the other, just a realistic little touch. (Technically only the drink machines should do it, I suppose, but snack food tends to be non-rotting anyway.)
Make the map when you press [m] use either tiles or your custom font. Same for vehicles.
I’m tired of rectangle maps!
Getting shot makes you bleed.
Toggle option for more bleeding on world creation would be nice, something simple to up the difficulty a bit.
I also wish that heat packs could be used on yourself.
Freezing to death while having a heatpack is really ironic for me.

I just realized that there’s a vehicle part we don’t have, but desperately need: bulldozer blades. Should be dead simple to add; just a high-durability impassable protrusion with a decent damage multiplier. Honestly, I don’t know how we’ve gone so long without them.
