Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

Swappable Fuel Tank:
A car part, similar to the one which allows swappable batteries on electric cars, but for gas tanks (or water tanks or etc).

Emergency Fuel Tank Ejection Platform:
A variant of above, which allows a fuel tank to be ejected from a car, manually or automatically (when badly damage or destroyed, for instance), and can eject either on the tile below or be “thrown” from the car a fair distance away. Requires springs and perhaps some other parts to craft.

Allow suitable weapons to load single rounds even without an appropriate magazine. Not recommended and not good for your extractor in particular, but it’s the kind of kludge that’s still good for hundreds of rounds. At the least, most closed bolt operating systems will fire if you throw a round in the chamber by hand and are careful not to slam-fire the thing.

Probably needs a tag with a modifier for how long the single loading would take.

Animal barding might be nice. There are Kevlar dog harnesses (can they be worn by tamed Dogs?). I just made a Dogfriend. I want him to live. I would give him brass knuckles if I could. He is so vulnerable and frail as he is. I don’t want him to die on me, if he manages to escape the base. Some armor would be nice for animals.

Also, can cows be milked? Because I would love to have a cow I could milk.

As a concession to make traveling to and from refugee centers/farms or the seldom seen player created bases feasible I think long range teleport pads should be a lab finale item. I mean, that’s what they were researching after all…

Animal lover trait, you get a moral debuff for killing poor defencless animals. Restricts psycopath.

Innafective grabs, where the zombies or something grabs you, but you wind up just dragging them.

Zombies with hockey masks will revive an infinite number of times until burnt, butchered, or smashed (or the mask is removed).

Activate shovels to bury corpses.

Clothing item: wallet. Holds 1 storage.

Vehicle parts: wood chipper, combine grain thresher, snow screw.

Midden pit on construction menu to allow permanent disposal of any item.

Objects dropped on stairs fall down to the next level, like other roguelikes.

Boxing tape, can be activated to turn into wielded weapon, +1 blunt to unarmed, can’t be repaired, destroyed if removed.

Flat feet/plantar fasciitis trait: running causes pain, unfitted footwear causes pain when walking, double when running.

Clothing item: powdered wig. Very fancy. Found only in museum and possibly mansion.

Bad teeth trait: eating causes pain.

Kinky trait: Gains morale boost from wearing heels, bondage mask, bondage suit, French maid outfit, wolfsuit, dinosaur suit, clown suit, leather corset. Whip does extra damage. Vibrator gives extra morale bonus.

Mugging “Questgiver” NPCs. I’ve had it with NPCs that I can’t rob because I have to accept the mission and then lie to their faces first. Whenever a NPC talks to you for the first time and they’re offering you a quest, you should be able to mug/intimidate them without having to lie to their faces first.

Ex. “Oh god, I can’t believe it happened…”

Options A and B: Standard “What’s going on” or “I don’t care” options
New Options C and D: “Drop your weapon” or “Get out of here before I kill you” threats.

“Moral Purity(Can’t think of a better name)” Trait. Cannot drink Alcohol, do drugs, or use Vibrators. “No Pain” Trait. Can’t feel pain, but you can’t see how much health you have left unless you stop to thoroughly check yourself, which is time consuming.

Monsters grab your limbs, inhibiting you to attack.

Maybe an evolved version of grabber zombies try to grab your limbs instead.

Triffids getting a reach attack (Just read The Day of the Triffids).

Triffid Blademasters, triffids with a single razor sharp katana like blade, and a really high combat skill.

Can we armor plate external tanks. You know so they don’t pop like water balloons when you accidentally back into a car or building.

Whears the peanuts, just high nutrition value lots of charges, but dehydrates you.

That reminds me that you could basically copy the external tank and give the copy more armor or durability or whatever, and higher required mech skill, and rename it to ‘reinforced external tank’ or something. So basically in order to get a reinforced external tank, you’d just have to (re)install a normal external tank. (while pretending you are doing some reinforcing modifications to it)

I guess one could also make a recipe for ‘reinforced 55 gallon drum’ or is it 250L drum these days, and use that as the required vehicle component for reinforced external tank.

Keeping contained fires alive if performing an activity.
