Needful things (simple additions to improve the game)

Greatly reduce recoil and maybe slightly add accuracy when using a weapon welded to a vehicle instead of using it by hand. Seems a lot more realistic this way, and actaully makes you want to mount your m60/m240/m249/m2browning/Mark19 on your deathmobile even if most cases are lost when shooting&driving (since you can’t install a brass catcher). By the way, being able to mod mounted guns would be awesome, but I guess that would much more complex.

A mod I’ve been working on gave me some ideas…

Potash.
Pearl ash.
A certain alchemical recipe that produces…not a universal solvent, but a great glass cleaner.
The Sheltered start really could do with some refinement. Seems like easy mode.
You get +3 points and start with a ton of skills and resources. Seems off to me.
As pointed out, perishables will have rotted away and foraging is harder. Raiding towns is also much more dangerous because more zombies will have evolved.

I’ve seen multiple hulks spawn at once (i.e. on the same screen) on day 1 using sheltered start before. It’s not quite the free points it used to be.

Not much of a challenge. You can easily manage a town raid with those skills and extra points.

I am WAY behind on updates, so ignore if this is outdated but, in the (+) layers menu, make it so that the layer shows up in the properties list, also throw some coloring on clothing that clashes and causes additional encumbrance. Thanks and again sorry if out of date suggestion.

American flags should be able to be used as an alternative material in crafting recipes that require sheets. Based on volume differences, I would say 2-3 flags per sheet.

This is really minor, but “Saving game, this may take a while” should probably display before the game starts to save, with a “game saved” text at the end, rather than waiting for the save to complete before the text displays.

Smart watches. Music, camera, flashlight… hell, they even tell time!

Smartphones with cameras and the like, same features as the tablet.

Being able to save data from a tablet to a SD card. Backups everyone!

Hell, even my regular cell phone, despite being an old flip phone, has a microSD card slot and can play MP3s. o3o

I was under the impression that only the most resilient of telephones survived the cata…

What about a no-zeds mod? You remove the zombie-associated cataclysm and allow other things to spawn in their place, might be fun if you feel that the zeds are being overdone…

There is a wildlife-only mod, though…

Wearable cardboard box to stealthily sneak past foes.

Cloth Partition, as a drag-able construction or as a vehicle part, crafted using 2 sheets and some wooden planks/extra-light frame respectively. Can be opened or closed like a curtain, but doesn’t obstruct movement in either mode (might slow a little while closed?), is torn apart relatively rapidly from being bashed directly, and blocks sight and a little bit of scent while closed.
The main uses i can see this for is when you want to set up a house base, and need to block vision from the windows quickly and temporarily.

Speaking of terrain oddities, how complex would it be to add something that counts as a bullet-resistant yet transparent obstruction when shot at from a distance, but DOESN’T affect gunfire when the shooter is adjacent to it?

Could you add a version of Glaser Safety Slugs into game?
Also an option to make dumdums or explosive ammo would be nice to give guns that little (or in case of Glasers A LOT) stoppingpower with unarmoured (=99%) hostiles?
If only to mundane guns-mod.

Perhaphs one way force fields

Would be rather derpy to have it calculate direction instead of distance though.

So, the theory is that bullets would lose armour penetration as they travel? Is it worth modelling?

Not quite what I meant. As it stands, walls and such can already either soak up bullets, or have them pass through and suffer damage from it.

My suggestion is more like an obstacle that is outright ignored by the wall-bashing code when the shooter is right next to it. Thus going straight through AND without damaging the terrain in question.
