More Zambinals

I like GlyphGryph proposal, as time goes by the world become more and more alien (not necessary more hostile in every cases). The cataclysm sure will leave you with lots of mutated wildlife, both hostile and peaceful ones.

Also, we should draw the line between zombified animals and mutated ones. Zombified animals should always be hostile but appear less frequently and mostly near the zoo/aquarium (zombie shark!)/labs (lots of zombie dogs). While mutated animals will mostly reside in the relatively safe countrysides - dangerous ones (spider/bear/wasp/wolf/coyote) will be hostile while more peaceful ones (moose, small critters) will be mostly harmless to the player.

I don’t know how big monster infighting is, (has it even been implemented?) but that will drastically alter your tactics when… well. Say everything in one of those proposed zoos was uncaged, you might be more likely to only find a ton of carcasses and whatever was actually victorious left duking it out like some animal fightclub.
Imagine running away from that surviving godawful beast through a horde of regular zeds, able to lose it via distraction. Might be an interesting variation.

Alternatively, sneaking in with a small group of your buddies, locking yourself in a cage and placing bets.

AND THEN WHEN THEY RESURRECT YOU CAN PUNISH THE FAITHLESS NPCs.
