Mining

I sincerely hope for an extension of the mining system. Maybe we can find gems, or ores underground that we could craft into awesome swag? Wouldn’t it be cool to find ready-to-use fuel for forging your gear by breaking down rock? Also, how can I dig down from a given area into the underground?

There’s a construction(* opens the menu) for that, would tell you the tools needed, but I don’t know them by memory.

• 1 Tool With Tree Cutting Of 2 Or More,
• 1 Tool With Hammering Of 2 Or More,
• 1 Tool With Digging Of 3 Or More,
• Pickaxe.

Components required:

• 1 Long Rope Or 1 Vine

Just so you know upfront, I seriously doubt there will ever be a df-like mining simulator in dda. Constructing shelters or breaking into facilities make sense, but having the survivor mine for ore just doesn’t make sense from a cost/benefit point of view.

A way to find sand aside from parks and public works would be nice. I can probably endure making a base made from concrete, but I finding sand is tough.

And as before, turns out just lighting a fire under this external tank wasn’t enough. Had to grab a flaregun.

Holy crap. Zoomed out once and you still can’t see the end of it…

One more zoomout, plus debug vision, and the aftermath is apparent.
