Oh hehe, good idea. That’s what I did with my island hopping character, but with a slingshot instead of magic. Bonus that your target practice yields a meal afterward.
Too bad my survival was so low that my butchering only got me a single scrap of meat. Not even the skin. Waste of a perfectly good mink. :-/
But I did get several magic missles cast, so I got that goin’ for me, which is nice.
Where can I obtain an orichalcum ‘lump’? I can get frames (security vans are made of them) but I can’t disassemble them. I can get slivers (glowing boulders), but I don’t have a recipe to smush them together into a lump.
my suggestion is to wait a bit for the blacksmithing update i’m writing. there will be some slight rearrangements of recipes. but you should be able to smash orich frames to get lumps
And the Orichalcum Sledge-Hammer capable of smashing those Orichalcum Frames is loot you can find in the center of the Demon Spider Queen’s lava pool. 8)
I found an XX frame and uninstalled it, got some lumps.
BTW Laeteveinn seems very fragile. I’m constantly having to repair it.
Edit: Will Laevateinn store in anything? Stashing it in my inventory is much slower than sheathing would be.
Is there any plans on allowing players to create golems? (Manual of golems!)
Would be a really fun end game task finding all the rare ingredients and parts to put one together
What if we could construct an “orichalcum golem”?
i cant even seem to find orichalcum and use it to make a bike xD
Orichalcum comes from two places:
Security Vans are made entirely from Orichalchum Frames. No idea how they afford it. Dismantle them to use the frames for yourself, or blow them up to get orichalcum lumps.
There are Glowing Boulders out in the fields. Smash them to get a Sliver of Orichalcum.
wish i had read this before pickaxing the sole glowing boulder i have found ºnº.
At least now i know to keep an eye for security vans
Some bikes are made from orichalcum as well.
For the apprentice start, there is a secret room. Are there any actual doors to that place, or do you need to use more unconventional methods like phase door?
Also, how does fast learner impact the learning of spells?
For the secret room, you have to move a piece of furniture to open the secret door (I’ll leave it to you to figure out which one). I have no idea how one is supposed to figure this out without reading a spoiler like this. I don’t recall ever seeing any sort of clue.
I dont think it helps at all in it, from what i have seen the exp gained while casting/reading them is static, but depends on the spellcraft skill, so if im not wrong the trait only helps you with the skill as with any other of them (although im not 100% sure, just half assed tested it)
Fast learner does actually influence your exp gains as if you had 15 more focus (spell exp per cast is dependent on your focus like other skills).
Tested with debug to compare with/without.
Reading the book for exp though is not affected though.
This has probably already been mentioned but personally I found the animist+biomancer combo (but have to give up magus and druid) a little OP if you can get cure wounds, mind over pain (or sensory dulling cbm), and life conversion. It pretty much allows for an inexhaustible amount of mana you can use to spam your spells with allowing you to be a pure caster mage in a playthrough or use manatricity to convert it to bionic power.
You know what I really want? A Levitation spell that allows me to move up a Z-level as if I had a stepladder/drainpipe/etc.
line_attack beam spells are broke, they only damage the target you aim at (no matter how you aim it, at the last monster in a line, on the ground past them etc).
i could be wrong, but i believe there was an issue made for that in the github
and if there isn’t, please make one with reproduction steps. this will help me so that i don’ thave to be the only one that might have a chance at fixing bugs.
