Tried that, they’re not supposed to be able to be cut up at all. For some reason despite being made of “Nofixkevlar” they still breakdown into Kevlar and are repairable.
Dunno why

One would assume dissembling a filled MBR vest gives you an empty vest and the material that it was filled with, but it doesn’t.
The problem there was it’d give you /pristine/ whatever it was filled with and you could immediately make a new one, no charge.
Maybe have it so that cutting up an empty MBR vest gives you kevlar plates, and disassembling any other MBR vest gives you a damaged empty MBR vest? Not sure if that’s possible, though.
currently the game doesn’t support a “damaged” item, it supports a seprate “damaged” item that can’t be repaired, but that’d be something that would have to be decided on.
A “fix” I might do instead is give x number of kevlar/ceramic/etc plates that’s not enough to “repair” the vest along with an empty MBRV (Since in theory it’s just a vest with big pockets)
Assuming Skyrim, Planetside 2, or other games doesn’t eat all my off-time.
