Do I just put different types of engines on?
Yes, that’s all you need to do. Of course, you need Mechanics 8 to install a second engine.

Last I checked individual engines are toggled in the vehicle control menu once multiple are installed. They’ll probably both be set to on once installed but you may find yourself needing to disable one of them at some time or another. Each fuel will also need a separate tank.
