How did you last die?

Setting the building on fire and then dashing through the hole after waiting a small amount of time is not a valid escape plan.

Much smarter to exit the building, THEN light it up. :V

SO i decided to check a mansion for the so much desired ninjutsu book, after successfully creating a diamond katana in a luckily spawned CVD machine in a lab nearby.

On my way there i found a solar car, disassembled an upgraded solar panel and learned the recipe and outfitted my tuned APC (full with cargo spaces and everything i could need/want and with a shitload of gasoline and some diesel, but till runninng a large electric motor, since it’s so cheap) with upgraded solar panels. When i finished it, it was already night, but blinded by the sheer luck of these past hours of playtime, i decided to not wait till morning, turned on my headlights and went to the mansion at 122kmph.

On my way there i passed near a triffid grove and of course the road was full of triffids and vine beasts, which left after them huge piles of plant marrows and other plant stuff after impaling on the spikes from the front of my car. Obviously i lost control with the vehicle for a short period of time after the impact, but i couldn’t care less, it was my lucky day.

And that’s when shit got out of control, after another impact, i lose control and see in front of me an APC with his externally mounted diesel tanks right in front of my car. All my prayers were to no avail, of course i hit it and a huge explosion ensued, killing my oh so powerful survivor (mechanics 12, electronics and fabrication 10, archery and marksmanship 9, rifles, melee and unarmed 8 and so on, full heavy survivor gear, reflex recurve bow, pneumatic rifle etc.).

I am saddened. I had so much loot, so many guns, so many good books with recipes, i just needed that ninjutsu book, i did.

Haven’t you learned by now that external tanks are just bombs-in-the-making? :V

Improvised lockpicks? ;A;

well,my external tanks were not the problem. I believe that if there would’ve been any other car in front of me, without an external tank mounted, i might have survived the impact.

Threw an EMP grenade into a group of security bots. They stopped moving and I had a new tileset so I thought they were dead. I waltzed right on up to one and it one-shot me. RIP.

On the brightside, the NPC I was with went on to become a prominent trader before getting shot in the face by her employer.

Let go of controls, activate run. Try to jump out of the car. :wink:

Heh, even if i did so, the explosion was huge, no way i could’ve outrun that.

I wasn’t fast enough to recover from a bootleg turn near an anti-materiel turret.

I could never go past day one the few times i tried long ago.
I tried again today, there was a boomer in the basement of my starting evac shelter but i quickly dispatched it and found loads of stuff in the room. (backpacks, first aid kit, loads of things)

I was happy about my run until i got back up and got promply shot by a tank bot.

edit : I proceded to start a new character, which spawmed in the exact same evac shelter with the same exact murderous tank bot, great.

First time I encountered a tank bot, I just opened the door and let the starter NPC run out to wreck its shit. Second time it was distracted by zombies, so I was free to commandeer a luckily-working military vehicle and run it over.

Am I the only one that has good luck against tank drones? :V

Probably. I get more luck with turrets.

One of tank drones I ‘met’ once was busy plonking some animals near the military lorry, also remaining conveniently near the petrol tank. The first M-72 went a tad to the side, but the second hit and exterminated both tanks, to my glee.

Those things are the bane of my existence. ;A;

EDIT: Modded in a spy class. Died very quickly to a mi-go. Suppressed PPK did jack shit.

The way how I deal with turrets is stand 7 paces away from them and chuck rocks at them until they explode.

I used to be able to just pop in front of them and retreat to cover, after I do that I wait for them to run out of bullets so I can waltz up to them and blow them up.

this doesn’t work anymore in the new experimentals, they have a way bigger light radius. Control laptop works wonders though.

as kevin said, they’ve got a measure of nightvision ( not a light radius ) so throwing a lightsource at them should limit their vision radius as it would to you.

this is strange, i am pretty sure they still have light.

I’ve not delved into the code myself but i’ve got reason to think otherwise here’s the discussion
