Almost the same. Everything was perfect. Start as “Experiment” with fast learning, fast reading and few slime mutations/traits. Low stats except of intelligence. Skill in fabrication, survival and cooking. That was my luckiest game.
In the first hour of playing I found solar car, then I found spawn point of scientists corpses. After that in the forest I stumbled on the little glade with hole to other dimension and 5 marloss bushes. After second berry become the Marloss Carrier. Then found lab with two bedrooms on the ground floor. Lived there for a month. Also there was a mansion on the north with the hu-u-uge library full of different useful book. So I had a long bow, broadsword with scabbard, warm clothes, good armour, unlimited source of food and happiness. And this stupid turret ruined everything.
When I opening the door in the laboratory I’m always step aside and then peek around the corner. But then I forgot to do this. Also I was staying on the counter. I get a large heap of bullets in my chest and died.
So, turrets it’s a dangerous bitches. Do not mess with them.
Safe mode, I say again, safe mode.
Safe mode wouldn’t save you if turret already aiming on you.
Open door, which takes up some movement points
Get shot to death without a chance to respond

1 burst of 9mm do not kill me (they miss a lot of times) and mostly light of turret do not reach me or door so i can snipe it with bow/crossbow
Safe mode wouldn’t save you if turret already aiming on you.
I’ve always had the patience to keep my flashlight off when I’m exploring sections of labs which might have turrets in them.
Even if the turret’s own light doesn’t warn you ahead of time, it means you get that one turn to react if you open a door and get surprised.
Safe mode stop you from moving the moment you spot the turret, so all you have to do is duck back out the way you came in or close the door you just opened.
Took my Haphazard Motorcycle (beautifully named) to a nearby town to gather materials i found earlier, such as a minifridge. Along the way through the town I found a gas station, I pulled a nice U-turn into it… upon where I “lost control” and crashed right into a pump… day 25. I had an Extended U-Haul Truck fitted with a dozen solar panels and storage batteries, all my stuff packed into it ready to go on the never ending road trip of the cataclysm.

Ah well… time to start over
My mechanics level was 16, is that normal?
I’m on day 25… And my mechanics is at 16… Is this an omen from Marloss Man, God of Fungus?
My mechanics level was 16, is that normal?
16 Mechanics is where I usually end up after putting together a mobile base.
For not losing control of a vehicle, you want Driving 4.

Yeah i knew that at the time, i just didnt have any driving books. Are they more rare or something?
I mostly avoid gas stations altogether, with the power of solar panels.
Solar powered vehicles master race.
Holy cow man dont go to any gas stations!
Luckily, I had already made the smart decision of doing nothing but reading first-aid skill books. I think I’m safe now.
The only driving book I’ve ever seen that will take you all the way to Driving 4 is the AAA Guide 2040: Anonymous Anarchist’s Annual edition (which also has a bunch of fun recipes). The official AAA guide, which is more common, will take you to driving 3.
Yeah. Most bullets bounce off my rock-hard abs, but I’m talking about newer characters that don’t have ten thousand health.
i have something around 100hp even without armor 9mm do not kill (only give pain and dent my sheath scabad and holster)
Chicken Walker. Survived until day 29, 9:00 p.m… I had the “delete world on death” option enabled. RAGE QUIT. (Probably only going to rage quit until sometime tomorrow at most, though.)
EDIT: Sad thing is, I probably would’ve survived and killed the chicken walker if I remembered that I had a power armor suit in my vehicle (I didn’t have a power armor helmet, but still…). At least I learned some stuff to keep me alive even longer next time I play.
Mechanics is probably next on the chopping block for those
"this task is too easy to train skill past X" messages.
As soon as someone rebalances multi-engine installs, yep.
