I was doing great. Survived 45 days, had some light survivor armor, high skills. then I drove into the minefield.
New start, police sniper on the FEMA Camp scenario. I killed every zombie in camp by luring them into the burning building, pulped all the corpses, and thought I was doing pretty well. I had already found an entrenching tool off a dead zombie soldier, so I was able to use it to clear out the wreckage of the destroyed building all pulp the corpses inside.
Then I fell down a hole in the ground that was created by the collapsed wreckage
There was a lava rift directly underneath the FEMA Camp.
Burned alive in a river of lava within the first 3 in-game hours.
I am always happy if i can have a death like that.
those deaths make this game worth playing.
Really, if a brute doesnt knock you into a burning building at least once, or multiple brutes dont play pingpong with your corpse, why are you playing?
I was sawing parts off of a car when a hostile npc ran up and torched me with a flamethrowerâŚ
was doing extremely well, had repaired a beetle to full operational statusâŚso i was driving around like a moron in order to cart my LOOT towards my 5x5 wooden shack and then something i did not expect to happen,as i forgot to put the gas tank of that fucking beetle beneath the seats i left it as default,on the front.
so i was going on a curve and i barely nicked a wrecked bicycle and the whole was tank exploded.the fucking car went into bits and i managed to crawl out burned as fuck, extremely wounded and with broken limbsâŚjust to die thanks to my ammo stockpile going off.
i was both awestruck and amazed at how random this was.
Was playing a cyberjunkie character and I had gotten to the point where I can remove all of the faulty-bionics with just an increase in first-aid skill (too bad it didnât happen, good first-aid books are rare as hell). I was able to remove the leaky bionic using some crack and ended up with huge damage while trying to remove the others.
So I went looking for a fungal-bloom (ya know, for teh fruit) and ended up running into Mi-Gos and Zombie-Soldiers. Somehow a MOLLE pack wearing Zombie-Grenadier pulled out a grenade-hack and boom, âWatch the last moments of your lifeâŚ?â
I didnât know this game had GRENADE HACKS!! Been playing stable for quite some time now and I update to experimentals only to be killed by grenade-hack!
Yea, it was felt that hacks did not have enough variety. I think they have a timer or something so you can run from them?
in theory they do. they begin a short countdown when âthe [%] flashes menacingly1â
Reality: they can still move when priming themselves.
You better shoot them dead. running isn t realy effective.
They arenât slow enough to outrun if aim is bad?
They ll catch up as your stamina declines.
You better shoot them while you can.
Ah. K. so shooting disarms then?
Yes.
âAnd thatâs why, children, you donât walk through fields at nightâ, said no survivor after stepping on a landmine.
Got chased down and smashed by a hulk. I had meleeâd him to two red bars, though, thanks to hydraulic muscles.
The buttons have changed and I was playing on a laptop with no numpad.
I had a bottle of water in my hand. I wished to swap it for something in my inventory I could wield like a weapon. A pop-up menu appeared, with several options, most of which were not labelled with a key to be pressed to select them. I failed multiple times to put a waterbottle into my tiny fanny pack in place of the big stick I was somehow carrying.
I died because the house on fire attracted a zillion zombies while I was standing there with my hands glued to each other and flapping like I was some infomercial actor.
I miss being decently familiar with the controls for this game!
uhjk I believe. I never remember controlls until I am playing so I may be mistaken. Also bny and⌠t? I think for diagonals. I play laptop.
I emediatly forget what i did yesterday. But i haven t forgotten keybindings yet. I guess my brain is selectively keeping memory.
Not interested â> delete. I guess.
ughh I canât remember anything about anyone unless it interests me, and probably not even then. Unless it was offhandedly mentioned by a random stranger on the internet I took a liking to. Which⌠makes me feel stalkerish when I instantly think of all the little things in their life that I have ingrained into my mind against my will every time I talk to them.
