You can’t easily gain flame resistance proper enough to tank tank drone flamethrowers. You’d need mycus fireproofing for that.
Even with the CBM, you’ll start burning and get a lot of pain because of that. Without the CBM, not even full nomex gear will protect you from the standing-in-flame damage (nor will it resist the damage itself, for that matter).
Getting hit by the flamethrower just once will give you about 50 units of pain and 15 damage per bodypart (spread over 5 turns).
Though once you get into melee range, you can spam the EMP bionic without taking a single turn.
The original J-9 started you in melee range of all 9, that was the point. Point-blank with tankbots is tazers, I’d think.
Eh, anti-electric CBM, anti-Fire CBM, firesuit, and I’m a Prototype, so pain means bonuses for me. Only problem for me is a lack of melee skills (Goddess of Archery and all). Actually, come to think of it, I’m post threshold, so they wouldn’t even attack me in the first place.

That's actually either bug or some kind of weird feature - there is NO way to protect yourself from incendiary. It doesn't give a single fuck about your armor or mutations, you'll be damaged anyway. IIRC tankbots shoot with incendiary.

Might end badly, actually…
50% chance for tazer/50% for flamer
Electric immunity is relatively easy to gain.
They shoot with a hardcoded “pseudo-flamethrower”. It’s far weaker than a real flamethrower, but has perfect accuracy.
Will probably try the tank drone-9/chicken walker-9 when I get home to see how ridiculously hard it is - I have the arachnid threshold and they certainly won’t like that. I’ll be making a backup save for my char, though… usually I don’t make backups, but tbh this seems like suicide for me, considering I don’t have any teleporters… even if I did have teleporters they probably wouldn’t help.
I will bring news of how horribly I died when I do this challenge ;-;
that’s so much pain
get out of there
trust me, I didnt take long to get the fuck out.
Owch… That damage… Makes me rethink my decision on lessening the armour on the Landcruiser Mk2 compared to the Mk1…
Steelmaniac if you managed to get out of there (mostly) intact then you are a lot luckier (or better) than I tend to be in those situations.
I got out of there and the only damage I had was 1 broken heavy duty roof and board, one shredded leg, and some other parts of my body nearly dead.
I got extremely lucky that the tank missed it’s shot tho. That’s probably what saved my life, along my armored Suburbased.
I had to stay like two days in my bed, rendered too stoopid from the pain to do anything worthwhile for the most of the time.
Now I’m back on the road again but I need a way to fix my fucking leg.

Leg splint (minor medical know-how and some crafting) & bed rest w/plenty of healthy food/tea, takes about a week or two
or
Mr. Stem Cell if you’ve got a cleared hospital handy
I killed it unarmed, because I am a fucking idiot and forgot to use my stack’o’cash. To repent, I killed another Shocker Brute with said cash.
I’m not sure if this counts, because you don’t learn brawling from a book, but after combing through a ton of Dojos/Boxing Gyms. These are all the ones I found from books.

Survive in the middle of a horde for 100 turns with out taking damage.
even weak survivors can do that
just make small weapon platform with solar panels and use some pulse turrets and you can live until you run out of water/food
without vehicle few cbms will do that
olfactory mask and cloaking system should do the trick
in case enemy get close enought to attack high melee and dodge will block/dodge attack
and if someone finished power challenge its even easier

Turn spawn rate up to +25x, then finish off the nearest horde. I’ve seen hordes get so large that even with the pulse turret, I can literally drown in bodies.
