Freddy shows up when you sleep too deep

What about situation where you somehow awaken freddy Kreuger( possibly by clearing a Mine, or finding a survivors note talking about him, etc.) and whenever you sleep for more than a few hours at a time(to achieve REM) you essentially re-spawn in a random place with nothing but regular, non-armored clothes and no weapons. you must defend yourself for a certain amount of time, or even KILL him if you can, but you only have unarmed or found weapons to accomplish this with. if your alarm wakes you, or you kill him, then you wake up safely. a reward for killing him would be to take his glove back into the ‘real world’. This would give another use to a watch and using the alarm function.

I really like this idea as a fun type of minigame… This idea has nothing to do with the fact that I’m binge watching all the Elm st movies and want a way to kick Freddies ass

I almost thought this had to do with the silly animatronic monsters mod.

And if this mod was fleshed out with more horror movie references, maybe. Don’t forget some old-school classics. Or go full derp and add The The (sic) Eye Creatures.

What, like angry leprechauns( kill him for lots of gold) and evil snowmen( they could be a winter-only mob with a ranged attack that makes you REALLY cold in addition to hurting you. )

Very rarely when sleeping, save the game, spawn a bunch of monsters, wake the player up, and then upon their death...

In the first movie, you can bring Freddy from dreams to reality, so it be nice to emulate trapping the trapper and taking his stuff. Well the finger-claws matter the most.
