Found a glowing pin

I just moved through a pile of rough rubble.
In it, I found a glowing pin. "this pointed rod glows faintly"
I also picked up some irradiation while moving through the rubble.
I got these two messages:
“You can see through walls”
“You feel an otherworldy attention upon you”

are those messages related to radiation, or to the glowing pin?
what does this otherworldly attention mean?
where can I see which mutations my character acquires?

Congratulations you just found an artifact. Artifacts give u super abilities like turning invisible. However there are penalties… decreased starts, high thirst, etc. You’ll have to find out about that yourself.

oh wow, I just used a bottle of mutagen, and it increased my night vision to high and then to full nightvision in one pop.
Reading in the dark, hurray.
I think the glowing pin also gives random mutations over time as it’s negative.
I have the robust genetics trait, so should be fun.

EDIT: next bottle of mutagen gave me infrared vision. I think this char can see quite well now.

EDIT: question: is keeping a backup save as simple as just copying the save directory somewhere?

A “spoiler” is something a Conservative puts on xyr car. Check the Artifacts wiki page and inform yourself!

-Those would be the pin.
-Netherworld critters are a little more likely to wander over and make themselves known.
-Status screen, same place as the chargen traits. (Mutations are the same general idea.)
