A+ work mate good job
Was in a drawing mood and felt inspired by Cataclysm. Decided to draw one of my characters. (aracial color a la Homestuck)
Iām not sure what she expected would happen after mixing up bleach, ammonia, and mutant flesh and then chugging it.

Very nice, and is she emerging from a toxic waste dump?
Hey, she turned out better than I did after radiation exposure.

Hey cheer up, and have a snickers you turn into a tree when your hungry, better?
So before I really start drawing, I wanted to test some concepts to see if the look right I was practicing shadows and a character holding objects. Well both the hands and feet look off to me, what do you think?
The feet look a little weird, but maybe if they were angeled to the side a bit, they wouldnāt be? Like if you could see part of the sides as well as the back. And the hand holding the shotgun looks kind of weird. His palm/grip is facing the wrong way. It seems like it would be uncomfortable to me. Pretty sweet drawing other then that.
Thank you, but yea thatās my weird problem I go for one angle and give the rest of the limbs another angle.
Actually itās supposed to be a lab. I had set up one as a base and used the plentiful supplies to whip up some batches of mutagen. Believe it or not I donāt think Iāve come across anything radioactive yet, or at least havenāt stuck around long enough to find out.
Anyway, your own drawing looks pretty good. Feet and hands are always a pain to do. I do notice that the shadow seems a little off: it doesnāt fork with his legs, as if his lower body were a solid rectangle.
Thatās why the shadows looked a little off Iāll probably draw more today (If I get my classes done). I saw the radioactive symbol and thought it was a toxic dump. Why are hands so hard to draw anyway we use and look at them all the time.
Thatās probably part of the problem. They are pretty complex as far as body parts go, and since we are so familiar with them itās easy to spot even minor errors.
Perspective is a hard thing even for the pros. If youāre having trouble, try looking up images on Google and seeing if you can find a similar camera angle. Even if it isnāt exactly the same, it can help you understand whatās going on better.
Thanks for the tip that would probably be the best way to do it.

Carnivore isnāt all itās worth either.

As for feet being difficult to draw: Yes they are. I can draw them, but thereās a reason my toons have teeny little buttony footies instead of the actual thing - saves me half an hour.
Foot angles. Rightmost one, middle row: seems more like what you were aiming for? That can be one of the hardest angles to draw, since most of the foot actually obstructs your viewing the rest of it. Feet tend to look ātoo smallā as a result of so much being hidden, but that obstruction actually gives the impression of the right angle, sometimes more than if we actually saw the foot. Either way, here are some angles that are good not so much to master, as to just sort of eyeball from. I find one learns more by experimenting than copying directly.
HEAD ANGLES not directly relevant, but I wanted to point out that I still use this as a startingpoint/sanity checking tool when I draw more realistically. I may have skill, but I fuck up perspective royally ALL THE DAMN TIME TOO. References are a godsend. Never feel bad for using them.
Thanks thatās what Iāve been doing experimentās on angle like some kind of crazy doodle scientist, and for the tips Iāll keep them in mind.
Thatās the best way to do it, just keep drawing. Sometimes youāll hit a bit of a wall where it feels like you just draw the same thing over and over again - sometimes, itās good to try something different to break from that. But a lot of the time, thatās what practice requires, so never hold it against yourself. (I still get bothered when more than two pics in a row face the same direction, but really, I can draw people facing the other way, itās not like Iām avoiding it - so thatās like splitting hairs over nothing.)
Haha I love when it happens, ramesesniblet.
