Frogs are plenty meaty. Fliers, not as much but IIRC the dragonfly is edible.

I like the picture a whole lot. First there is her facial expression and her eyebrows, very well done. Then there is the slightly /darker/ meaning. She is reading a book about cooking, looking at what she plans to cook, and as your drawing shows in the foreground there is the oven/stove in which to cook it on.
