Draw Your Cataclysms
Ahaha, awesome! I never did get the hang of vehicles myself, I still wanna create a miniature mobile base of operations one of these days.

Also just to keep in practice (And because I love seeing various peoples’ character designs), here’s a trio of different Cataclysm survivors who have shown up in this thread, with their creators’ names next to them.

Also added bonus, here’s my current avatar, courtesy of my good friend Murcifer/Katzbalger:

Very cool!

If you want I can give you some tips. It’s pretty simple once you figure it out. I’d recommend getting into it with an integrated toolset, a decent fabrication skill and some levels in mechanics. Books are pretty neat.

I’d find a car or truck away from a city/town because they’re in good condition, but have no gas/batteries. Fix up what red/grey things at least on the car (you only need supplies other than duct tape/integrated toolset for greyed out stuff) but hopefully it won’t be too bad.

A jerrycan is easy to craft if you’ve got the skill for it. With a jerrycan, head into the city with a rubber hose and start siphoning some cars. Even better if you can get to a gas station instead!

Gas up your car and you’re good to go. To drive, I’d recommend turning on NUMLOCK so you can drive using one hand and it’s not terrible. 8 accelerates, 2 decelerates, 4 turns your car left and 6 turns your car right. 5 moved to the next turn. Hope that helps some.

I appreciate the advice! I’ll have to give that a try sometime. Driving I can do, because one of the runs I did (Which is actually up on my Youtube) I found a working car by sheer serendipity, so I didn’t need to patch it up, I just had to get gas for it.

Making them’s the part that stumped me, but I’ll give that a go for sure. Once I can avoid being moose’d, anyways |D

Much awesome. Such thanks. Dat wrong topic though.
I’ll consider drawing other folks’ survivors for sure, but no promises! (As I’m not entirely great at drawing humans in the first place either, they will likely end up being very toony) I’d need to go digging through the thread for decent reference material, as I did with Logrin’s character.

Yeah, I really love Murcifer’s style, she does some really amazing stuff and I am glad I got that back when I did! She made ChazMoth look adorable \o/
Oh cool beans mangotron! I would really appreciate it if you were to draw my character, though I understand if you don’t get to it.

Anton looks very much like a velociraptor, save for a human-like size and standing on his legs like a typical human would. Head’s about the size of a human’s as well. He’s totally reckless and solves one out of every three problems with a match-head bomb or a molotov cocktail.

I consider the hoods to be on the hoodie and the cotton hat is a ushanka

The gloves and boots cover everything on their respective extremities save for the talons, and wrap tightly around his hands to end neatly on his lower forearm over the hoodie.

Thanks, man!

Oh yeah, I’m still a bit unqualified when it comes to making them. However, I definitely can grasp how to do it by modifying the truck I did find. I added heavy frames with spiked plating on the front as well as reinforced headlights, watertanks and gas tanks simply by removing them from other vehicles I’ve found.

That may be a bit complex for me to do, but if I get the urge you may see it show up in the thread in the future, ahaha!

Nah, that conversation just branched off of me responding to Closet Pankin’s picture earlier, because I was curious about how he was able to get a car up and running as easily as that! So it’s more a tangent than anything

Alright, thanks man! You don’t have to do a full body picture. :]

And to think I tried to draw Ekarus naked but safe for work with bionics in an attempt to show they could all be installed easily and failed miserably and nobody called me out on it only to be forgotten! XD I’m just messing with you Chaz, missed seeing your posts XD
(Just please don’t start with the puns, I will cry.)

EDIT: …might need to redo that pic, with what I know now I might actually be able to do a better job… …and actually use the lizard tree.

Me too! I remember @Face and Gnome… good times. (?

Alright, I’ll put the highlights of my character here.

Weapons are: Katana and double Ruger Redhawks.

Notable armor is: Leather trenchcoat, army pants, army helmet, armored gauntlets, gas mask, and combat boots.

Some stuff I left out like the fact I wear 3 trenchcoats but I imagine that would be somewhat hard to draw and would just serve as clutter.

 1. Holy shit dude, you win at mutation roulette.
 2. You have two thresholds, which shouldn’t be possible. How old is this save?

You may consider this cheating, but I started a roleplay save as a early on test subject for mutagens and just debugged me some dinosaur. Tried to balance it with lacking some key mutagens like able to eat raw meat, for example. Other survivors tend to not take to me very easily and my inability to wear 99% of footwear is kicking my ass right now (see signature).

Though some of those traits are mutations that I didn’t totally legitimately get at the start, so I guess I did luck out some. For example I didn’t start off with durable becuase it was a bit OP but then I explored a waste sarcophagus.

Quick sketchy etchy metchy!

Da crew. With no Slax cuz he is no cul and does nut hav a cahractahr. )?

If i forgot someone, sorry!

Hee, you made ChazMoth look super adorable, thanks dude!

Haha, you welcome!

Where’s meeee ;_;

“The gang’s all here!”

For now, if of drawers we talk (Sorry ninja :D) i forgot Ekarus, Dusty, Slax, and make me remember? And then me make a collage of all our characters and destroy the world.

Only had this guy as an avatar on the Cataclysm forums since forever. Sniff.

Felt like drawing StopSignal and Slax’s characters, so here they are

Also to folks viewing the thread, please do not take it personally if I don’t draw your characters right away, or even at all - I may draw them sometime in the future, I may not, it all depends on how I’m feeling and what kind of reference material I can get (Generally visual references help a lot more than text descriptions, for me, ahaha)

Woahh, that looks fantastic! Hahaha!

And Slax, rad as always!

I love how you made it look like headphones. I really like that idea! (They are actually badly drawn ears, lookie: http://i.imgur.com/AOGtZHa.png but still, that looks rad as hell and-) thanks a lot for that, haha!
