DinoCataclysm Mod

In the latest version, the burnt zombie bug is back. Also, not sure if it’s a gameplay mechanic, but smoke takes a very long time to dissipate.
I’ve set one building on fire and a week later, the town is still full of smoke

Ya, still here, just tied up for the time being running a Mini Maker Faire.

I don’t see why certain portals in the main branch of the game couldn’t spit out these precious dinos  Its not that much of a stretch lore-wise… Don’t think Lovecraft would disapprove  OR WOULD HE?! :stuck_out_tongue:

The dinos I want to nab as soon as we have a way to toggle them off (or on, off by default).

I don’t think they fit the theme of the game, and don’t really want to alter the theme enough to allow them.

An alternate mod-based version of the game is definitely their rightful place.

I have to second that.

Aside from a sort of easter egg type scenario (something with those portals maybe) I don’t think dinosaurs fit the mood of the game whatsoever.

Because then the game becomes Rifts, not Cataclysm. Though that is one direction I want to take for DinoCataclysm, once the World Factory is up (and when I have some free time again). ;D

Yep, I am, just waiting for the mod manager to continue, since keeping up with all the latest additions is getting to be quite a bit of time I can’t afford at the moment.

Mod manager is kinda dead at the moment. Unfortunately it bitrotted (conflicts with more recent changes) really quickly and thus is almost unmergeable.

Yeah, that’s kind of what I figured, still, holding out a bit of hope.

Once I’ve done some work on NPCs I’ll be picking up what’s been done with Mod Manager and trying to finish it.

So much more waiting on this then?

Dinosaurs are now a mod in CDDA, but not everything from the old DinoCataclysm made it in due to limitations in the mod manager. DinoCataclysm itself will continue to mess around with some stuff still in the code (see original post for differences). A new Windows executable is up, but no SDL version yet since I haven’t quite caught up with the tilesets.

Updated to include new map saving/loading code, plus mods for those who want a more back-to-basics kind of game.

I want more velociraptors and saltopuses. Tasty saltopuses.

Yup, just slower because of Real Life.

Real life is a bitch.

You could become a sentient AI program like me.
