I second this notion, make the player have to store food in a fridge or something similar.
No, just behind doors and such. I just don’t want thousands of corpses piling outside my base and for noobs to just throw items in a pile in the forest.
Yeah, they should eat corpses.
Game needs cockroaches the size of small dogs that eat unguarded food supplies. Problem solved+more difficulty.
Here. Have my
good one, it’s going on my list.
The latest update doesn’t have carrion-eating cockroaches, but it does have some primitive form of rotten item and puddle cleanup.
I was thinking they would go around and eat corpses and multiply, until those 500+zombie corpses turn into 50+ cockroaches trying to eat your food.
Roaches should split into 2 roaches upon eating their quota of body bits and fridge snacks, Maybe make it so they can sniff out food and rappel down through your windows and raid your stockpiles while you are asleep.
I want it to be something like this:
Sleep.
Wake up to five roaches in the house.
“I forgot to close the window… Kill me.”
Updated with pretty much all of the latest optimisations and bugfixes from DDA, plus the following:
- swamp frequency can now be set as an option
- unloading from inventory items, not just wielded item
- certain comestibles are now handled as powders, somewhat similarly to liquids but can be picked up
Finally got around to updating DinoCataclysm to version 0.3, link in the OP.
Game balance is probably all over the place, especially with the new spawning system. Play at your own risk!
Updated with bugfixes and some features from CDDA 0.4.
M72 LAW vs T-Rex?
Yay.
A new Windows version is up, with most of the recent changes in C:DDA 0.5 pre-release.
Windows executable updated to the latest CDDA 0.5 version, plus dinosaur nests in forests.
[me=GlyphGryph]gives thumbs up.[/me]
I look forward to the day when this is mainlined. (Obviously not as, like, the main game, but hopefully something like classic mode)
I’m waiting for your mod controller to be up.
Actually the monsters and locations can be done now with flags, but items would require similar handling to be coded in first.
Getting a blackscreen when launching the newest version while replacing the .exe in the 0.5 directory after deleting the necessary files, and getting no response trying to launch the .exe by itself.
Did you replace the data folder too, and delete the save folder?
What do I replace the data folder with? And I’m using a clean install, so no save folder.
There’s also a data folder in the zip file in the OP, this needs to go into the directory where the .exe is.
