Dog and cat spawn? shrugs its not game breaking atm, and they already have a low frequency. I’ll get to it at some point.

I updated CZS for it to be up to date with changes in DDA.

Be advised this is the bleeding edge of the bleeding edge of DDA and CZS, it’s the latest source from DDA thrown into the latest CZS, and it’s all done by me, so expect it to make your computer catch on fire.

That being said, it’s got a lot of neat features thanks to kevingranade and OddzBalls amongst others.

I changed the color of the cursor in windows from blue to cyan, since it’s very hard to see the windows console blue. This color affects your cursor on the map/minimap, but also the loot highlights, making it easier to see loot. Linux/cygwin still has the normal blue cursor though, since that works fine. I’dd like to hear some feedback on this.

If you encounter any problems, mention them here, ideally with basic steps to reproduce it, and I’ll see what I can do.

PS: I’m just updating CZS to be up to date with DDA because OddzBall doesn’t have the time to do it. I’dd like to keep CZS not too far behind DDA considering the amount of work needed to catch up to just 1 week of DDA developments.

I think it would be a good idea to choose in the options screen, waht’s the time at the game starts: from 1 AM to 11 PM, or 0 to be random.

A few days ago I found a shimmering portal, which I found strange as by the mod description I wasn’t expecting to find anything but zombies and wildlife. Is this intentional? (take note that I found it in a previous version, not the one compiled by Tase).

Not sure about shimmering portals, I don’t know much about them but I’ve seen one once.

Thanks Tase. I will get back around to CZS after I get done with my little hiatus here.

I have been playing DDA for a little while and I just found out about CZS: this is awesome! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for when I was playing Cataclysm (I am not that much into the whole sic-fi stuff, it makes it harder for me to immerse…).

So this is just to post a big THANKS to the people who are doing this and to encourage them with keeping up the good work. This is great guys :D!
And while I am at it: any Mac build in view? I saw it was recently integrated to DDA as a standard, could be nice to have it for CZS :).

I can confirm they keep appearing in the latest version (the one you compiled). So, can they be removed from this mod, please? They feel pretty much out of place here IMO.

Completely agree, and let me also thank Oddzball for this mod.

I’m playing the last Tase’s version, with fixed spawn.

I’ve found a Purifier on a dead scientist’s body somewhere in a random forest, not sure if it’s supposed to be in this version or not.

Also, i was building a door in a farm i’ve set as my home, and suddently, “you gain night vision” !

After a raid into a city nearby, back to the farm, my screen turned purple for a few turns because of an ectoplasm (i didn’t see anything special on the map). First time it happens, what is it ?

I’ve been biten by some Z three times, and bleeding, and i managed to heal. I find that (bite and bleed) quite good so far.

Yea I pinpointed where the spawning of shimmering portals and the mobs associated with them happens. It’s not like usual, it’s a random event to spawn one portal, which randomly spawns those weird things. The event system itself is cool, might try to change it to something more realistic, i.e “Helicopter crash site” a-la DayZ, or an abandonned camp site, or .

As for the purifier/mutation, Oddzball hasn’t removed the mutations/radiation you can get from craters and other sources, so having a purifier is handy. Not sure what his plans are for mutations.

I can confirm the ectoplasm thing when on a farm :stuck_out_tongue: I arrived on a farm in the dead of night, walked into the barn and got slimed. What causes this?

Telesickness does this I think. See any flying eyes lately? Did you stay around to day to see what was around the farm?

The ectoplasm bath also happened to me in the farm I used as my home before casually stepping on a landmine. I was opening the front door to stretch my arms in the morning breeze when I was ecto-ejaculated.

I never saw any floating eyes, but knowing that the corpse of a certain cannibal I killed the day before (he sprinted towards the front door, broke it and tried to use my bones as toothpicks… and I barely knew him!) was resting in one of the several deep pits I dug in front of the front door area I decided that was the cause. I proceeded to butcher it, throw it on my cooking fire, and never had any ectoplasm incontinence since then.

Good to hear that. About suggestions, maybe some kind of NPC camp (once NPCs work properly), where you can trade or be robbed. Or maybe a gas pipe that broke and is burning forever (nice fire source but might have a chance of exploding for good when player is around). Or maybe a stash of , guarded by . Or, as mentioned, a horde of (zombies, feral dogs, feral cats, feral squirrels…).

Ok, I guess it will sound like a stupid question, but I just downloaded the source for DDA + CZS (https://github.com/tasetase/CZSplusDDA) that I compiled myself (I am using a Mac) but I cannot get to find how to launch CZS, I can only get to launch DDA (using /.Cataclysm once compiled)…

Any suggestions?

CZS is a standalone mod, you dont need DDA to compile run it. As for running it, CZS makes its own executable called CataclysmCZS

As for the suggestions for shimmering portal replacements, it has to be more or less the same size, since making it too large might make the mapgen go bonkers (overlapping stuff, my shimmering portal was practically in the backyard of a house)

Maybe a community water tank…
