Can you turn off weapon degradation in experimental?

The lesson here is to bring a backup weapon and just don’t abuse your OP weapon over and over.
Compare this:

 • You use your nodachi to kill hundreds of zombies, clear city, repeat ad infinitum…
 • You use your nodachi to kill hundreds of zombies, but then it breaks because you abused it too much without maintenance, you must now use your less effective weapon.

I’m pretty sure the second is more realistic and fun.

I don’t see how this should be made optional, balance maybe, but it’s game design.

stuff like wrenches getting fucked up after beating a few zombies doesn’t make sense though

all metal items should be extra durable

The weapon’s material(s) play a big part as well. So do a whole lot of other factors. Metal things are really good for zombie-beating by default, some of them are just better suited to it than others.

How would you go about fixing the damage to metal stuff then?

I’m guessing it has something to do with blacksmithing?

Soldering Irons and scrapmetal

Yeah it’s ridiculously easy.

Yeah,I’m dealing with the thing quite well,if I reinforce my weapon then it lasts long enough,I’ve killed 1600 zombies and I only had to repair my reinforced Katana twice.

my crowbar is durable too i repaired it only one time (normal to reinforced) and it works perfectly

Hmm. That easy to repair? Phew.

Wait, how would one go about repairing wooden items? Superglue?

I heard-tell there was an item called the “Basic Repair Kit” and you use that and duct tape.

How about playing with it for a while before assuming we got everything about it wrong?

QFT’d.

Yeah, unless you’re using the most fragile shit, you’ll probably not have to maintain your weapon too long. Some good old fashioned western swordsmithing will last quite a while without checkups.

That’s what I’ve been doing all last night.

Well, unless you mean metal items, which seem more fragile than their real world counterparts. like, I can't wrap my head around how this:

gets bent out of shape after beating maybe... 10 zombies to death with it? I mean I can smash a wrench against a concrete or metal surface over and over and not even faze it.

I understand something sharp becoming dulled, wood becoming chipped(if not lacquered), plastic becoming warped, and even a long pipe becoming bent. But this is essentially a short blunt chunk of metal.

I do like weapon degradation though, I’ve been waiting for it for a while.
