Autumn, Day 67
Dont let it be be said I dont put effort into making these guys and testing them out.
When its so much fun to work, who wouldn’t?
Its well into autumn, and with the coming evolutions into the (vanilla) endgame the zombies are back to forcing me to skirmish. I cant kill them all fast enough or taking few enough damage.
I spent a day at the forgy again, crafting a morningstar, rapier, and then a war hammer. I want an awl pike, since it does clean twice the damage of the steel spear, but the rapier is very, very attractive. The damage increase was marked and immedietely my viability skyrocketed. I let my NPC buddy die when he decided to shoot his gun at a wolf through my vehicle. These mirrors, their biggest defect is that zombies can see them and will constantly path into the blind spot to smash into the vehicle.
I gave alexander a helmet of teleporting and strong back, and one day he simply disappeared. I told him to go to sleep and then went into a mansion. I came out and he wasn’t anymore. No body, no map marker, just gone. So no more teleporting for my companions.
Now that I am alone, and I can wear more armor without roasting in it, Ive dressed up and went to check out the demons. Theres always been errors as the monsters try to spawn on top of each other. Sorry all, about that.
Anywho. I’m keeping this guy until he dies or the changes Ive marked go through. whichever comes first. With the warhammer, a much needed bashy weapon, and the rapier, a much needed increase in finesse and defense ability, Im much more ready. I dropped my glock .45 in favor of a scabberd and the lemat antique pistol and popped in the 9mm glock into my ankle holster. Going into doom country, its inevitable that Ill see lost souls at some point, and its inevitable that Ill need to pop bullets at them.
I found that Zombies are exhibiting herd behavior that I find … ‘unexpected’. They seem to all kind of spread out more, and smash more. This lends themselves to ‘migrating’ through the bubble, destroying, or half-destroying many more things, including building and my vehicle.
I did get to smash open a wall with my own melee attack, so yay, Im at that level now.
I did also get to use my rear-mounted 50-cal to snipe a deer. So that was fun, and at the ranges I was doing it it left a badly mangled but still intact deer to butcher, so yay again.
