How fucking deep is this lab
I’m on lvl 4 and there’s still more stairs down
At this rate I’ll run out of space in my trunks

5 is pretty common, in my experience, and I’ve found as deep as 7 pr 8. There was one I posted a while back that was crazy big on each of the first 3 or 4 levels, AND it went to 7. That was insane.
The only thing at the bottom of the lab was a bunch of mininukes.
I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM
I DON’T FEEL LIKE LEVELING A TOWN
You dont have to. make a mininuke launcher and do nuclear drive-bys.
Ugh. It’s gonna take me days to unload the truck.

They can be disassembled for plutonium, you know…
Dont you waste legacy.
Something needs a bomb and some nuclear gas to clear the sinuses
So I random-ed an infected bionic soldier…
Started in a furniture store, grabbed a screwdriver cordless drill, and some other tidbits on the way out with my rivetech caseless. On my way out of town I jumped through a window (double smashed and walked inside) to avoid zombies in the streets, grabbed what I could (food and drink especially) and headed for the other side, opened the door and found a fully functional car with 83/83 or so.
Cranked her up backed out, ran over a spitter that missed me and looked for the nearest place to town to base up at.
Found a running Humvee w/ turret, turned it off marked it and continued.
Passed through a swamp at 60~80kph and waved at the jabberwock. Hit a roadblock and shot the first turret no problem. Exploded first hit. Second one seemed un-hittable to my soldier with 7 max perception and shrinking (infection) eventually I got to close and took a shot to the leg. even (especially?) after that my misses seemed legendary 45ºish off kind of terrible (couldn’t have had less than 6 perception by this point)
Eventually I killed it too gathered everything into the car and drove off again, still finding no shelter and took all the roads that would keep me close(ish) to the starter town before hitting another roadblock. Not wanting a repeat shootout to waste my precious ammo I decided to try the nearby clearing to see if it would let me through back to town. Not only did it but dumped me out next to a shelter and a BIG substation that I had originally considered.
Guess I’ll clear out the substation and make it my base.
Okay, so a few weeks into the apocalypse, I found this military outpost in the middle of nowhere which happened to be under assault from a massive horde of zombies. Which were made mincemeat by the milspec turrets stationed there. Deciding err on the side of caution, I backed off the gore-fest in motion and decided to return another day.
Cue day 45, when I had fixed myself a solar RV and equipped with a reflex recurve bow and metal arrows, I came back to the outpost with the intention to snipe those turrets.
Only, it turns out that the horde had reanimated in the meantime and the turrets had ran out of bullets. The results were obvious. Except for this one turret which got double-teamed by a pair of z-brutes. It turns out that the armour of the milspec turret is actually tough enough to withstand blows from brutes, but not heavy enough not to be sent flying by their super-punches.
And at one point, the turret was actually sent flying through a raccoon with lethal results. For the raccoon, that is.
So that turret ended up ping-ponging several map tiles away from the outpost without even taking a scratch. It’s the most hilarious thing I’ve seen happen in the game ever. Thanks to turret, the brutes were distracted enough that I managed to kite them to death before they even reached me.
And while I was busy chasing the brutes, the reanimated horde besieging the outpost had apparently gotten bored and wandered away. Sans clothing. When I got back to the outpost, it was to their scattered clothes left behind and a blinking green Z on the overmap heading away from the outpost into the woods. Unfortunately, there were no military IDs to be found in the outpost.
So there’s now a shambling horde of naked zombies wandering in the woods. That’s a thing now. What would NPCs even think when they saw the bizarre horde, I wonder.
Autumn, Day 67
Dont let it be be said I dont put effort into making these guys and testing them out.
When its so much fun to work, who wouldn’t?
Its well into autumn, and with the coming evolutions into the (vanilla) endgame the zombies are back to forcing me to skirmish. I cant kill them all fast enough or taking few enough damage.
I spent a day at the forgy again, crafting a morningstar, rapier, and then a war hammer. I want an awl pike, since it does clean twice the damage of the steel spear, but the rapier is very, very attractive. The damage increase was marked and immedietely my viability skyrocketed. I let my NPC buddy die when he decided to shoot his gun at a wolf through my vehicle. These mirrors, their biggest defect is that zombies can see them and will constantly path into the blind spot to smash into the vehicle.
I gave alexander a helmet of teleporting and strong back, and one day he simply disappeared. I told him to go to sleep and then went into a mansion. I came out and he wasn’t anymore. No body, no map marker, just gone. So no more teleporting for my companions.
Now that I am alone, and I can wear more armor without roasting in it, Ive dressed up and went to check out the demons. Theres always been errors as the monsters try to spawn on top of each other. Sorry all, about that.
Anywho. I’m keeping this guy until he dies or the changes Ive marked go through. whichever comes first. With the warhammer, a much needed bashy weapon, and the rapier, a much needed increase in finesse and defense ability, Im much more ready. I dropped my glock .45 in favor of a scabberd and the lemat antique pistol and popped in the 9mm glock into my ankle holster. Going into doom country, its inevitable that Ill see lost souls at some point, and its inevitable that Ill need to pop bullets at them.
I found that Zombies are exhibiting herd behavior that I find … ‘unexpected’. They seem to all kind of spread out more, and smash more. This lends themselves to ‘migrating’ through the bubble, destroying, or half-destroying many more things, including building and my vehicle.
I did get to smash open a wall with my own melee attack, so yay, Im at that level now.
I did also get to use my rear-mounted 50-cal to snipe a deer. So that was fun, and at the ranges I was doing it it left a badly mangled but still intact deer to butcher, so yay again.
Walked in front of an alley and saw this.
What is this? A pop concert for Justin Beaver?
I dont know what that is. I see little zombie girl/dolls.
I like playing acsii mode, wtf is this…
Stupid damn manhack bug.
Stupid shit. And ofc, I cant drive away with a manhack in my vehicle. Thatd be rude to the manhack.
you can disable friendly manhack
Put on power armor for the first time in the history of me playing CDDA. I felt good as I took no damage from being punched through two houses by 4 hulks and I managed to kill them.
Man, why can’t we wear things over power armor?
Killed a tank drone. Turned the corner in my modded technical with a 40mm coaxial to the driver’s seat and M60 in the back.
I noticed there was a tank drone there because it missed a zombie and send a shell through the house next to me.
My 40mm launcher missed the entire damn thing because my launcher skill is 0, so I got lucky and blew up the cargo truck next to the tank drone.
There are no zombie bodies, just clothes…
Just made it to summer(20 day seasons). I seem to be doing well so far although my base of operations may need to be relocated in the future.
May actually venture into vehicle construction/operation this time around.
and I need some mid-range goals to keep focused on.
get a mobile gun platform.
get manhacks, zombie pheromones, or pther means of crowd control
build a new room
kill nearby fungal hives, triifid bases, or other infestations
get and train an npc
I found 13k or something like that of nails in the debris of a cabin with a broken corner.
I’ve never used a nail rifle before so i might just do that.
Does anything else accept nails as ammo?
