What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Eh, fuck it. I debugged myself some literacy for just long enough to mark the center on my map. Unlike the last several games, it showed one not far from me. Kinda just past one of the towns.

EDIT: Oh. Oooh. Dead science team, among the loot was a symbol of judgement. Not expected.

EDIT 2: Uhoh. The merchant, arsonist, and a couple guards are outside.

EDIT 3: Okay, the area is clear at least, so no logical reason for them to be hanging around in the open. I’ll just do my best to keep them from burning the center down or getting themselves killed, clear out the sealed room in the center, and maybe do the bandit quest line.

It probably will. I tried long ago to seal a zombie inside a crate and nailed it shut. Bastard reanimated outside the sealed crate without breaking the damn thing.

What you need to do is wield a zombie dog as a weapon.

Shocker zombie died like a chump because I took cover behind a locker. Gorham am smartest barbarian.

Switched back to niten when my survivor found the l-stick. Got tired of lugging around the heavy-duty flashlight. Will miss the awl pike though, since it was fun doing hit and runs on zombies while pedaling the wheelbarrow.

To put that in context.

Im pathing up to a farm with a fungal bloom right outside it. IF its funtimes up there and the city isnt too far away I might settle there for the FUNgus. Ill even refer to it as my Fun Uncle Gus. Or Fug.

I plan to drive the pickup truck through the woods to get there, and this was the sallowest part of forest. Turns out it also has mines. So Ive been clearing away the shrubs and mines and young trees by Doghand before I drive on through. Do it once, do t right. Ive put spikes on the truck so I can drive through better.

Im a lightly furred padded feet kitty man now. Only 2 mutations, both somewhat useful.

So. Anyone ever recruited mercs before? I think I want to see how that works…

If you post things that are effectively bug reports in a random chatter thread, replies will be sporadic as I can’t possibly read and reply to everything posted on the forums in a timely manner.

I do recall having mentioned the “successful quests fail when quest-giver” dies bug ages ago. Coolthulhu finally opened an issue after eventually finding confirmation that it wasn’t glorious savescum that caused it. I’m also fairly certain that the “100% speech odds wraparound” has been reported before. And I think most of the weird shit that ensued in that is also all pre-existing

Nevermind the fact that your reply had nothing to do with bugs. Seriously, out of all the stupid things that NPC did, the only thing that catches your eye is the sole instance of normal behavior. :V

Anyway, now…it seems most of the NPCs have relocated back indoors.

So I was going around from Lab to Lab in my Jackal, trying to uncover some mapping software, as well as obtain ammo for my armory, when suddenly I found a “Peculiar Shrine”. It was a 2 days journey away by car, as I had to wind my way around a great many forests, and then hiked it on foot for about 10 map tiles. This thing was REALLY out of the way, but I just had to know what was in it.

Just some dusty old books, this weird as shit armour that I couldn’t take with me, some silly silver daggers… And a boarded up, reinforced room. My 3 years of experience with this game told me that I should just walk away and leave it. But I just… HAD to know what was behind it, even though the doors were REINFORCED, and BOARDED. So I took out my halligan bar and started prying. I mean, after all, I’m wearing military grade kevlar, and I’ve got a customised 416A5, how bad could it have been?

Well, without spoiling anything, I took one look inside that room, and NOPED the fuck out of there. Full sprint, pop cocaine, and BOOK IT 10 maptiles back to my car. Then I engaged all 3 engines for full speed.

Nyeh heh heh.

Guess it wasn’t worth it for a ring that gives psyprotecion and can be activated to cure/protect against several anomalous effects? X3

I’m -not quite- at the point where SCP-714 would be useful, if that’s what you’re talking about. But I’m contemplating coming back to kill the Dracolich once I obtain Power Armour, and a Rivtech machine gun. I’m pretty sure with my marksmanship at 10, I could probably kill it really damn fast with a solid machine gun and a damned big fusillade.

Meanwhile I got a truck up and running, on my way to fight the bandit ambush. Found an RV partway through instead.

Damn, I should’ve thought to call it SCP-714 instead. Still, the item it was originally meant to reference is referenced in a less transparent way. And if you do take it on, feel free to tell me how OP or wimpy it proves to be. Playtesting is Fun. owo

Updated… several submap errors… 2 npcs and a player character sitting on the road and no deathmobile… M.O.T.H.E.R. NOOOOOOOO!!!

Should i keep going im 2 months in but there went my entire supply of tools, guns, crafting supplies, food, fuel, workshops…plus im far from civilization.

Might be to much !!!FUN!!! for me.

So today I learned that using a zombie corpse to smash young trees damages the corpse, which eventually pulps

Sorry. no ressing that guy

You now have a longer-lasting bludgeon. o3o

Fuck it, Massive spoilers ahead. Don’t click anything if any innocent bystanders don’t want to have their surprise ruined. But I’m geared, up, and ready. THEME MUSIC, NOW.

THEME MUSIC

> Time Stands Still, At the Iron Hill (Blind Guardian): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aB6CPyO0Ww

My Gear:

My Stats

And… My Prey…

And the result…
Holy, mother of god. With the theme music playing, I descended down the steps with the 416 in hand, a spare magazine, and a Ruger Redhawk at my hip. As soon as I opened the door, flames washed over me doing some serious damage. I stumbled back and activated my Adrenalin Bionic for a speed boost, only to find it bugged out and instantly gave me Adrenalin Comedown(WTF!)

I screamed out in glory to Sergei Mosin, and felt myself energized with power from the stories of fingolfin, as I just laid the fuck into it with every bullet in my magazine. He was injured, but came on and slashed my gut open with his talons right as I slammed in another magazine.

I stumbled back and magdumped him again, but STILL HE CAME ON!

In desperation, I threw my 416A5 at him, and drew my sidearm… As flames washed over me, I finally finished him off with a .44 to the skull! Holy shit, I’m fucked up, and at this point it’s all I can do to just press a red hot knife into my intestines to staunch the bleeding from these deep wounds. I’m fucked up, real goddamn bad, but I’m alive.

Now to claim my reward, and hobble back to the jackal… There’s 4 rounds left in the chamber, so now I’m praying that my broken body doesn’t get claimed by a Zombear on the way back to the jackal.
Ooh. Now that is definitely a badass way to handle that thing.

I do hope you remember to pulp or butcher the remains. X3
Yea, I butchered it(Don’t want this kind of world destroying monster getting back up). I’m kinda dissapointed, but not really that the ring gives a -3 to strength. I suppose that’s an adequate price to pay for psionic immunity.

I made it back to the Jackal in one piece, but my god that was terrifying.

Looking back at the logs, I actually have no clue how the damn thing died, must have been the fire it was standing in. I still got credit for killing it. Picture included, how much of a novice this survivor is
Nice. Though that’s still one hell of a kill count. o3o
Not yet sure if burning 8 essence to get temporary immunity to wraith darkness, ratking mutation, artifact evilness, nether attention, teleglow, and amigara obsession is worth the expense, or the effort in gaining it.

I’d been vaguely plotting an idea that entails using the ring for some other purpose more related to its namesake (preventing effects or cursed weapons), but wasn’t sure how to go about that. It does sorta do that via curing the evil effect gained when wielding the demon claw or an active cursed blade, at least.
Naw, that’s just an ingame year worth of constantly hunting zombies. On a side note, I just encountered my first true horde of this playthrough on the way home from that accursed place… And I can probably take this on with the Jackal’s laser turret… Or I could do it the fun way by just turning around and ramming it at high speed, while shooting into it.
